The hotel was less than 10 room occupied and yet i c't check-in slightly earlier than 3pm. I have requested for mosquito netting on my bed via email. The hotel acknowledge.....but this was not given to me or reflected on the booking request. The room corridor light were not turn on during the evening (i guess to save electricity due to low occupancy) and we have to walk in darkness using the HP torch light. The lift near my room was also switch off throughout our stay. (again for saving electricity). My purpose of this stay was to check out the function room for my company retreat..... but during my enquiry via email to room reservation i was told to contact the reservation@sandandsandals.com myself for function room booking.... instead of them getting back to me or arrange for a site visit. The room rate that was quoted to me for this stay was much higher than if i book online thru room booking platform. Overall was a bad experience in this hotel.

It's definitely a good stay! As this is our second time to the resort, we really enjoyed the bedroom especially with the poolview - and it comes with a nice big comfy bed and sofa bed. The check-in staff was awesome! They were so quick and I breeze through my check-in and the staff were really attentive and accommodating to my requests. An amazing thing happened, we were singing a birthday song at the balcony for my daughter, and when we ordered room service the next time, the hotel gifted us a complimentary brownie cake. It was such a lovely gesture and surprise for my girl. We were caught offguard by such a thoughtful gesture... Anyway, we would come back again, especially as the kids love the beach, pool and room with the bathtub. The only thing I would recommend is that the place does need a touch-up here and there (some paint peeling off, etc). Otherwise, an awesome stay. Thanks to all the staff and management.

The hotel stay was ok. Rooms are spacious with beautiful seaview. Minus points are the restaurants. The Chinese restaurant service was really bad. Maybe due to lack of staff. Food came about an hr late and the dimsum was not served hot. The western restaurant’s lights were too dim that we have to use our phone’s torch to read the menu. Most of the arcade games are out of service. Golf is a little pricey and the hotel should upkeep and maintain it well.

Everything was good, room is spacious and pool was great! Really enjoy the beach that is just right in front of you. The only thing I suggest for improvement will be the floor of the hotel room can be cleaner, feel like they sweep the floor but did not mop the floor. Overall we still enjoy our stay here!

Book a nite stay, check in was fast with a beautiful smile. The room was big and clean. Views good wif the beach in front. The bed, big and comfy to my liking. Beach was kinda private only to the resort, no swimming though the wave quite rough wif stones. Pool was big wif kid slides. The downs: there was no face towels for the rating of this resort. The pillows were both hard, should provided either one soft and one hard. Did not have a good sleep as a result. Breakfast was boring, enough say.

This has been the worst and most ridiculous check-in experience i have experienced in my life. We reserved a bus to pick us up from the ferry terminal to the resort weeks before our arrival but when we arrived, the bus was nowhere to be found. After contacting the hotel multiple times, a small bus arrived about an hour late from our agreed upon timing. When the bus finally came however, other hotel guests that did not their reserve their seats beforehand and rushed up the bus that arrived. The resort bus driver did not bother verifying who actually has made a reservation for the private bus and just left with whoever managed to squeezed onto the bus. At that point, around 10 guests with families and children (including us) that has email proof that we have booked the buses were not able to get on the bus. The bus driver just shrugged and left the ferry terminal, leaving us stranded there again even though we have called the resort multiple times and waited an hour for the bus to arrive. We had to try calling our own taxi there and luckily we got one in less than half an hour later All of the other resorts had their buses arrived on time so only the guests from this resort were left stranded in the ferry terminal for an extended amount of time, wasting time. No actual apologies or compensation were provided by the resort for this fiasco other than a cursory email apology. The resort itself is also rather run-down and wild monkeys will occasionally appear in the hallways.

We have made hotels and resorts out of them. Sand & Sandals Desaru Resort & Spa breaks all records for mediocrity. When we arrived we wanted to take advantage of the pool bar to drink and eat something. It felt like we didn't exist and the bartender was vulgar in his words. The bar was super dirty, the blender for making juices was sitting on the counter in the heat without being cleaned, the whole bar was very dirty. When we asked for a snack we had to wait a very long time. This Resort operates with a minimum of staff. When staff work on one side, the other places are closed and vice versa. It was a long weekend and the Resort took advantage of it to charge high prices without providing the service that goes with the high price. The day before we had reserved the Resort's pseudo Japanese restaurant for four people for 8 p.m. When we arrived there was no room. We took the opportunity to order a bottle and have an aperitif while waiting. Rather than coming to pick us up on the terrace when the places were free, they put people back. After a while, we expressed our displeasure, they laughed in our faces. Finally, we had a late dinner and the quality of the meal was not up to par. As for the spa, there was only one person there to welcome you. The worst part, when this person gave you a massage, they wore gloves. Never seen. This Resort is a tourist factory. The objective of this Resort is profitability with little means to offer customers. This place is absolutely not recommen
