I’m an expat and every time I come home to Basel I stay here. It’s just a good old-fashioned grand hotel. Swiss hotel business at its best. People are super friendly, rooms are big, bathrooms are modern, spacious and nice and some rooms have nice balconies. Also great bar and breakfast. Cheap for what it is in my opinion! Love the Euler - long time tradition! I stayed in a junior suite with balcony and a deluxe double room with balcony. Both are superb. I’m a big fan of quality pillows and bedding and they have the BEST! Tram is right in front of hotel, easy walk to old town and shopping is open late inside the train station. It’s perfect!

I’m an expat and every time I come home to Basel I stay here. It’s just a good old-fashioned grand hotel that has been around forever. People are super nice. It’s old world hotel business at its finest. Big rooms, nice balconies, excellent service. Plus tram in front of the door and late night shopping inside train station. It’s perfect.

A nice hotel which could have been good, but let down in certain areas Situated right next to the main railway station in Basel, which is also where the bus to the airport leaves from, it is therefore very convenient. The hotel also supplies you with a Basel card which gives you free public transport and discounts at some attractions. The rooms were large and clean and comfortable. Not the quickest housekeeping. I had left the “clean room now” sign on my door one morning and when I came back 5 hours later, the room was still not cleaned and then they wanted to come clean it while I’m resting. The biggest issue was breakfast. It was like a farce. The breakfast room was quite small, and there was only ever 1 staff member, who was always rushed off her feet. The containers that were meant to keep to hot food warm didn’t even manage lukewarm. The cups on the table were slightly too small for some of the coffee choices from the machine. At one point, when someone asked one of the kitchen staff if there was any way to heat up the food, she just shrugged her shoulders, it was very much “don’t know, not my problem”. They had pictures of celebrities who presumably had stayed in the hotel in the past in the breakfast room. I can’t imagine any of those would have put up with this poor show. It really marred what could have been a good stay.

My room was clean, adorable, and comfortable with nice amenities such bottled water and espresso. The staff was welcoming, kind, and helpful. The location is convenient to the train station and the tram lines. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Basel!

Really lovely stay, staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Breakfast was nice, perfect location to travel as train station and tram stops right outside hotel, not too noisy it was really calm and overall a perfect stay.

Euler is right next to the train station making it convenient and well placed for exploring Basel. However we felt a bit unsafe walking around there at night and there were people shouting and confronting you. The staff were generally quite friendly but slow service at reception. The hotel and rooms were dated and old fashioned. We had a ‘deluxe’ room which I queried as the carpets were worn, beds very hard and pillows useless. The bathroom was very clean though and modern and the shower was powerful. The breakfast was limited but ok, nice bread and scrambled eggs and there was the opportunity to order an omelette. The breakfast room was really small and like the lobby, was dated and old fashioned.

The reception staff was unprofessional and sinply ignorant. I rang the reception and the restaurants a few times from the room, but there was no answer. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the hotel itself is clean and well managed. The staff are a shame!

Great location to the train; wonderful views; no cars allowed in the city (commercial vehicles only) and a great walking town. The hotel is one of the oldest and run by the same family so if you're looking for that type of experience (nice staff lives on the property), this is a wonderful place. Would stay here again.

Great location to the Main Train Station. Clean sheets. Old, but clean bath towels. Great water pressure and quick heating in a small shower stall. Good WiFi. Nice air conditioning. Friendly front desk. Complimentary ticket for local public transportation. Nice place to sit have a beverage and people watch.
