This property is run down. Disappointing especially for Red Lion trademark property. Although clean, the rooms paint was peeling and towels were frayed and tired. The room was not heated for arrival, so walked in to a 50 degree temperature.
The breakfast offered was some granola bars from Costco and Little Debbie muffins. The lobby is tired and not welcoming.
The property was listed as pet friendly, yet on Expedia there was no way to indicate the pet and what the pet fee was. Upon arrival we were informed our Expedia price could not be honored and the pet fee was $100 and nonrefundable. We ended up paying over $275 for one night at this VERY subpar property.
It doesn't represent Red Lion very well it's the dirtiest and most ruin down Red Lion I've ever seen

I booked a queen suite and I think I was put into a whatever? I had no balcony like it said it would online. I wasn’t even given a price for the room like I was told I would by the facility personnel. He said the manager had to go online to figure it out once she got home. I stayed up as long as possible to get that info and was told I would receive a call to my room, also didn’t happen. When I went to the office I was told that because I booked it online I couldn’t get a final price from Red Lion. The walls are super thin and the ceiling sounded like the occupants above were about to fall through the floor. The road noise is horrible and I could hear multiple tv’s going most all night. If you want sleep I do not recommend. I work for a very large local corporation and will not recommend anyone stay there. Also the continental breakfast I would rate below a 1 if possible. I will say the room was clean, so hats off to the maid service. My final rating would be 0 of 5
You could tell by some of the architectural details that this motel is old. But it is renovated and is fresh and new and modern. And very clean and quiet.
I especially appreciate multiple electrical outlets and USB ports in easily accessible spots in the room.
A/C was easy to use.
Mini-fridge was cold and ready to use and had a small freezer, so I could re-freeze the blue ice pack for my car cooler.
In the same parking lot as the motel there is a pizza restaurant and a Chevron with convenience store.
Overcharged...they did not accept the booking rate stated on my reservation! They said that I had to pay Expedia at time of booking! Never before have I had to do that. Looks like a book and switch scam!!!

I selected the more expensive "pet friendly suite" vs other room options when booking with Expedia at the Red Lion Inn in La Pine, OR. It showed as available. But when checking in it was unavailable. The front desk agent offered a room where I could pay an additional $100 per dog (if under 10lbs)! What are they, the Ritz? I left with the agent saying I had to pay a penalty for cancelling. Uhm, no? You didn't have the room I reserved, that's on you. She continues to say I didn't understand and that likely the upcoming month they wouldn't accept pets at all anymore.
Here I thought Red Lions were pet friendly. But also, don't make the pet friendly suite as available on hotel sites, when they aren't. I had to book alternative accommodations.
Expedia came through and had the penalty waived.

Felt it was deceiving. Paid for the pet friendly room then once we checked in they added another $100 per night for a pet. We have family in the area so we took our dog there to save. When I informed the desk she said, “it’ll be $150 charge if we sneak our dog in.. “How rude”! As if. We actually are hospitality business owners and we’re very offended. At checkout the same person was rude, not a thank you or how was your stay.. nothing.
