Over all we had a great stay! There were a few things I did not care for. First, I did not call two hours before we were at the apartment. I don't know if this is common practice in Germany, I never had to do this in the US. Because I did not call, the host kind of scolded me, telling me that I was lucky that the place was ready for us. Then, while walking across the parking lot, he yelled to someone on the second floor of the building that we did not call, and in a derogatory way said that we were 'Americans', like that explained that we didn't call. Then I had to show my passport and go through a check-in in the apartment. I always assumed that was done through Vrbo. We were told that we were not to smoke in the building, which was not a problem since none of our group are smokers, and checkout was at 11. At 9:30 a women came knocking at the door, asking us if we were ready to leave. Also there were people in the linen closet smoking.
The place was clean and neat. The kitchen was fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, utensils as well as small appliances like coffeemaker and teakettle. However, there was nothing else, no coffee filters, salt or pepper, nothing.
Like I said, over all, the place was nice, just a bit hokey with the host
