friendly staff, but worn and too hot
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the communal areas were clean and tidy. As a whole the hostel was quiet which is a definite bonus. The rooms themselves were of a much lower standard, lots of marks and damage on the walls and go the furniture. The photos that are advertised are not the room you get, so it’s a bit misleading. I specifically booked this hotel as I prefer single standalone beds but you get a standard dorm room with bunk beds. The bathrooms as they’re in the room were not very clean either and were smelly most of the time. And although this is uncontrollable, the rooms were uncomfortably hot all the time which made it difficult.

A good hostel in a good location. If you need a padlock they are in the vending machine for 3€. Don’t ask the front desk. The guy at the front desk charged me €5 for him to go get one out of the office, instead of telling me they are in the vending machine.

Little gem a bit out of the way
Large rooms, storage lockers, two full bathrooms/toilets in my 12 bed dorm. Nice breakfast, outdoor sitting, very clean, and great staff. Easy access from the airport via U7 and S41.

Similar to other visitors, I am in agreement that Hostel’O has significant potential given its location and recent renovations. However, I also wish to share my experience in hope that it may assist future guests in their choice of accommodation and owners in improving their services. Upon check-in (approximately around 6 pm on Saturday) I had discovered the beds to be full of dust as a result of repairs that seemed to have been done just prior to our arrival. The floors were covered with scraped paint, and there were several cobwebs on the wall. In addition, the room was filled with the odour of sewage and lights were missing in the bathroom. Having complained that the room was not usable, we were moved to a hotel within the same complex and given a one bedroom apartment containing one double and one sofa bed (approximately around 10 pm). This meant that I shared the bed with my son, while my daughters shared the sofa bed. Because the person at the reception did not have pillow covers, we were provided with 7 bed sheets to”improvise”. We were promised by the owner’s daughter that our original room will be usable the next day. After arriving to the room following repairs on Sunday, I found that the bed sheets were changed, the floors were clean and the smell of sewage was gone. However, the lighting in the bathroom remained an issue (there was no ceiling light and two out of three 25W lightbulbs provided only minimal lighting -I was told this could not be fixed over the w

Very good value for money
Convenient location, easy to find. Six bedroom was spacious, clean, with big lockers. The en suite bathroom was separated to shower and toilette, which is very useful when many people need it in the morning :). The breakfast was the same every day, but it was delicious.

Great value for money hostel
Being close to the train station where I was due to make my onward travel was very useful. Also being able to check out the Saturn store in the Gesundbrunnen shopping centre was a bonus prior to catching my train. Clean and modern bedroom with 8 bunks and two bathrooms made it a pleasant stay. The staff were very helpful and the continental breakfast reasonable for the 6€ I paid as I was able to each as much as I wanted whilst I checked my emails. The Guest I spoke to from Tanzania was very interesting. Then the staff member clearing breakfast away asked if I needed to take anything for my journey which I did.

Gem of a place
It was a good stay from start. The reception was welcoming and it is just a short walk from the train station. I can even run over to make it for the train which would be coming in 5mins. Had the 6-bed dorm which was initially empty but got filled up at night. Everyone was friendly. Shower and toilet was separated which is good for such shared facilities - both were ensuite within our room. It was a bit too cold for me though. Blankets were provided and comfy. Electrical points are also provided for each bed (both upper and lower bunk). The pub downstairs was playing music till late night but again, the whole room slept with no complaints. Just note that there is no lift (elevator) so you need to carry your luggage up. There are vending machines for your convenience or you can also walk over to the shopping centre across the road for more choices.

A Nice Hostal
had an incredibly late check in but the hostal staff hooked it up no problem. The location isn't centralized per se but it is only a train ride away from the SFX airport. Can also go anywhere from the train station which was like 5 mins down the road, so no problem. There's a few restaurants nearby as well. The staff wasn't really that interactive. I wish they would have given me more pointers on where to go or what to do near the area. Overall I found my stay descent and would definitely recommend. Groups of friends or solo backpackers would probably find it more appropriate since the rooms are quite social.
