I was at the Hikers Crossing Cabin for three nights with my mom.
As soon as we entered, the cabin was infested with gnats or fruit bugs. The dishes and silverware were dirty and rusted, and put back in the cupboards. Teflon on the pan was peeling off. None of the two TVs worked. The porch and balcony were FILTHY. Beds dusty.
We immediately called the management company. A maid came and was stunned to find the dishes in such a bad condition. In her words, "This cannot be one of my cabins". She had to go to Walmart and purchase new dishes.
She also promised to come back the next day to clean, but never did.
Next day we left for hiking, and then received a phone call that the TV has been fixed. That was also a lie.
Nothing had been fixed.
We called again, and now they sent a person named Cody, who said he was the manager of the property. I asked him several times about the procedures that are in place before a guest comes in. His consistent response was that he did not have the time to inspect the property as he was changing some light bulbs. He called Dish to fix the issue but first they were not ready to work with him as he did not have the last four digits of the owner's SSN.
We know the details because his phone was on speaker this entire time.
Cody did not apologize and did not suggest any reimbursement. He left saying that there is nothing he can do and that he has seen worse.
What a nightmare of a trip to deal with Cuddle Up Cabin Rentals. Save your money.
