Cozy Cabin

Cozy Cabin is a relaxing place to disconnect from the day to day and reconnect with yourself and loved ones. From fishing directly off of the dock to swimming and having a bon fire, you will truly enjoy the peacefullness.
Tämä mökki sijaitsee vain lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä kohteesta Shawnee National Forest. Mökissä tarjoaa asiakkaiden käyttöön esimerkiksi keittiön ja pation.

Great place
No WIFI, so bring your own internet connect but it really is a good place to just disconnect. Bring DVDs. Good dvd player and they do have a decent collection there. House is so nice and beds are very comfy. Staircase is very staircasey so make sure you are wearing anything but socks so you don’t slip on the smooth wood going up or down. We had a very nice time. The fire pit was so nice by the lake! My son was able to finish one of his badges there. No bugs in the house. Good location if you are wanting to go on hiking trails or take a short drive to Paducah.. definitely want to return with both of our kids when the oldest has a break from college. The morning fog dancing over the top of the lake in the morning was very pretty and the turtles were cute. We also had some tiny lizard friends on the fire pit rocks in the afternoon, sunbathing!

Beautiful cabin and lake!
I loved every detail the put in to the decoration of the cabin! It was practical and laid out great! The cabin was extremely clean and up to date! The drive to get to the cabin is the only downside but honestly worth the drive! My husband and I both commented we could live in a space like this cabin full time!

Very nice.
We have visited Lake Hohman several time over the last 6-7 years. This was my first stay at Cozy Cabin and would definitely book this place again. We visit for the swimming and to see the Superman Statue. Dock is in good shape and perfect for getting in and out of the lake. Price was very fair in my opinion.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway
We chose this cabin for a weekend getaway to relax and enjoy the outdoors. This cabin was exactly what we needed. We loved the cute, little cabin and all the amenities. The view is breathetaking. My daughter spent hours fishing the lake and caught multiple bluegill and fish. We appreciated the board games, cards and activity books provided with the house. We made good use of them on the rainy days. The cabin was very stocked and had everything we need. Host were great and very quick to respond to questions. The personalized welcome card was very sweet and made the cabin very inviting. I highly recommend this cabin if your looking to unplug and relax while visiting Shawnee National Forest.

Upstairs
There were 6 of us late 50's to early 70's. We there to attend the AQS Quilt Show in Paducah. We were surprised and a bit troubled the bedrooms were upstairs. The stairs are extremely steep and was difficult for us to go up and down. We did bring a cot along and was glad we did for our 6th person as the sofa bed did not appear to sleep 2 comfortably. Otherwise everything else was enjoyable.

Quiet, Peaceful, Calm
My wife and I booked Cozy Cabin almost a year ago in order to be in the path of totality for the eclipse. Cozy Cabin was a wonderful place to stay, it is absolutely a cozy cabin! Clean and well appointed with everything you could ask for. It's a perfect place for two couples, or a couple with 2 children to spend a few days. The lake is beautiful, there are enough other cabins on it you don't feel isolated but they're far enough away to give you peace and quiet. Cozy cabin itself is well-stocked with games to play, everything you need in the kitchen, excellent modern appliances, good water pressure in the shower, and a fantastic porch and yard to just sit and watch the lake. I would be aware the last mile of road to the cabin is dirt & gravel. Our little Jetta handled it without issue, but in heavy rains it could get a little sloppy. Magdalena and John were great hosts who responded quickly to any communication. I would absolutely stay at Cozy Cabin again if I was looking for a weekend of peace and quiet away from the city.

Beautiful location, peaceful and serene. The cozy cabin lived up to its name. The road leading up to the cabin is a bit rough but it’s worth it. Not a lot of cell service but we were totally good with that. Will book again if we decide to go back to the area.

Just what we needed!
My wife & I were looking for a few days' quiet in a refreshing & relaxing setting. We got it! Wifi & phone calls could have been a problem if we did not have our own 'hot spot'. But we wanted quiet! Everything we needed was there, clean, welcoming & private. Great stay!!!

Wish they would have more honest
Beautiful lake and cabin. Wished they would have posted that there was no wifi nor reception. It would not have stop me to going but have prevented an argument with my teenager. We would have had the conversation at home rather than at the cabin. Not the best way to start our vacation. No air conditioning upstairs. Also the comment about tips should have been worded better. Especially since we were required to clean up. Both of which we would have done since we're in the service industries. The condition of the roads should have also been mentioned.

Absolutely amazing!!!!!
This trip was a last minute deal & we are so lucky we found the cozy cabin!!!! The cabin is definitely cozy & spacious with an amazing view & wonderful ambiance. The lake was so peaceful and we loved it from start to finish. No internet no cable & no mosquitoes what more could you ask for!! Thanks to Magdalena & John for being such wonderful hosts & allowing us to stay at their cabin.

Cozy cabin retreat
Hiking at Shawnee National Forest, quite the drive to get there but well worth it! Beautiful, serene location! The cabin was clean and perfect for me and my son! Enjoyed fishing off the dock, swimming in the lake, and sitting around the fire pit. Absolutely loved staying there! Perfect place to unplug!

Cute Cabin on the Lake
We rented this cabin to stay in while attending the Paducah Quilt Show. Beds were super comfy, there was a nicely stocked coffee, tea, and hot chocolate area that was much appreciated. We didn’t have much time to enjoy the outdoors but the dock and fire pit both looked appealing. The hosts answered all messages very quickly and were very friendly.

Perfect for Relaxation
Loved this property! Was able to have a fire outside the first night. The outside fire pit was great. It started to rain so we went inside. Everything was very “cozy!” The indoor fireplace was AWESOME!!! That thing kicks out some major heat! It was nice unplugging (no service for me, minimal for my girlfriend). We loved the Good Housekeeping issue from ‘71 and the Better Homes & Gardens issue from ‘79!!! Lol, just funny reading some of that stuff since we both grew up in that time period! Next time, we’ll come when it’s warmer! Our hosts were amazing! Great communication. They even left a card welcoming us to their “cozy” cabin!

Take a break and unplug!
We booked this property looking for a serene setting in the woods and on a lake. This property nailed the location! Located in the Shawnee forest and on a lake, it was perfect! The cabin is a cozy two bedroom cabin that is decorated very nicely. Be prepared to unwind and unplug. We had limited cell service and there was no basic tv and that was just fine with us! Every now and then it is good to just getaway and enjoy the company of others. The cabin was stocked with plenty of movies and games to occupy your time when you aren’t outside enjoying the lake or fire pit. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for some good rest and relaxation. If you need to get away, Metropolis, IL and Paducah, KY are both just a short drive away to do some sightseeing.

Great time on the lake!
We loved the cabin, and very much enjoyed swimming in the lake. The cabin was clean, pretty, and comfortable. The AC worked well, and I appreciated the ceiling fans too. I liked that there were just the right equipment needed in the kitchen: not too much but just enough for all our needs - and then some! I especially liked the electric tea kettle! We appreciated the variety of DVDs and music available. We spent time in the comfortable lawn chairs around the fire pit - but no fire! it was too hot. The view of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed many minutes relaxing and enjoying the view. My daughter took beautiful pictures, and we will have many good memories.

fun by the lake
The house is cute and lovely, stocked with everything you need to eat, bathe, and do laundry (suits and towels!). We went to southern Illinois to hike in Shawnee forest, visit a friend, and to enjoy time on a lake. The lake is pretty and we enjoyed sitting by the fire, jumping off the dock, and floating in the lake (bring floaties for the lake). You aren't going to want to leave when you get there because it is beautiful, but also it is not a quick run into town. The roads are windy and bumpy and long so if I were to do it again I would have brought more supplies ahead of time instead of getting there and then shopping for food etc. And just an FYI, my cell service was not good in most areas around the lake and no WiFi at the cabin. I rely on my phone for maps and looking up trails etc so we had to wing it a lot. Not a problem, but if I would have known ahead of time I would have brought hard copies of maps and trails and made a better plan for traveling. Not the fault of anyone but my own, just wanted other to know of this possibility. We had a blast, these notes were just so others can be prepared and have a great time too. Thank you so much for sharing this place with my family.
