Fourth time past the charm! :))

As this is my fourth time to stay at The Angel Hotel Cardiff obviously I do like it and feel very welcomed and comfortable there. Staff is SO friendly and out of many hotels in UK in general it's just a proper hotel with properly sized rooms as seen worldwide (UK hotels usually are incredibly tiny) and very accommodating facilities!

Would Not Return

I was extremely disappointed with this stay. I had booked a room, which when we arrived I overheard was not available (due to some sort of service taking place). I felt we were then put in what I can only describe as a ‘backup room’. This was for my boyfriend’s birthday and so I wanted somewhere nice to stay. There was hardly any lighting in our room except a spotlight and 2 lamps. There was also no soap to wash our hands in the bathroom, 1 towel to shower with and mould in the bathroom on the ceiling. Overall, I wouldn’t be returning and wouldn’t particularly recommend to others

Excellent little hotel with a historic aesthetic that does go against it sometimes. We had stayed at the hotel, having booked a smaller room (standard double room) for several days and honestly, it wasnt the best. The window wouldnt close and we had to stuff it with a towel, the room itself was cramped, lumpy flooring and the shower was poor and the bedding thin. We had a pretty bad night and decided to ask about getting another blanket for the bed and lo and behold we had been offered to move rooms which we decidided to take. This led to us being upgraded to a much larger room with heating, a massive bed and enough space to run around. The staff, to their credit, were fantastic, accomodating, wark and friendly at all times and were apologetic about the room before. After that, it was a fantastic stay and would highly recommend. That said, a lot of the reviews on here will complain about the drafty windows and cold room and i think its because its an old building. If anyone stays here, if its for a night, get the wee room and youll be fine, especially if it isnt at -1C that night. If its for any more days, get the larger rooms and youll love it. (Oh, also ordering food to the hotel is allowed and for any pokemon go players, theres like 5 stops and 3 gyms surrounding the hotel. Go team mystic)

Overnight stay in Cardiff

Paid £39 for one night you get what you paid for in this joke of a hotel. Booked in fine,went up to the room and no bed should have left there and then.Finally got a room which was clean and comfortable.Went to the bar for a drink whilst waiting for my taxi,no drinks on draught only cans or bottles. I actually seen a couple with 2 pints going to there room from Wetherspoons down the street.Shocking.To cap it all of checked out at 11am and asked if they serving tea or coffee?Reply no. Never again.
