Not ready at check-in & zero compensation
Our check in was Friday @ 4pm, we arrived late on Saturday at 5pm & it wasn't ready. Unlocked door walking into: dirty sheets, dirty dishes & towels, and lots of crumbs. When I called, I was blamed for being marked as a no show? I reviewed we had a contract and it is my prerogative to arrive late, but their duty to have it ready. I was told it could ready in an hour or I could cancel. Obviously, I did not have other arrangements. I got a call an hour later and it appeared clean, but when I went to make food all of the silverware appeared dirty as did many of the other dishes. We were unable to use with TV with no access to any streaming app. This was extra difficult with 2 kids, both of which have some special needs. I was offered an additional night as compensation (Sun night), but we live out of state and had to return to work and school. I countered with a request for half of my money back, due to it not being ready and the inconveniences this caused (had to eat dinner out, had to leave and return to our event to unpack and settle in, then the code provided was wrong and I had to call again). Again it was reviewed that I was a 'no show.' I explained I was not asking for refund because we came late, but because it wasn't ready and the many inconveniences this caused. Long story long, they would not refund any money and then offered my family free haircuts at the owner's salon downstairs. I again explained we live out of state & don't want or need haircuts.
