Beautiful Hotel.
The Drake is a beautiful hotel, and Chicago is always fabulous! We had a deluxe room with two queen beds. The room was spacious, the beds were very comfortable, and it had two bathrooms. Unfortunately, the plumbing in these old buildings can leave more to be desired. The sink faucet in one of the bathrooms dispensed water at a trickle, and the shower in that same bath did not work well. Thank goodness we had the second bath where things seem to work a little better.

The Drake, overall, is first rate. I’m imagining that Chicago winters are still very very cold. Because our room was very very warm. Bordering on unbearable. We had to have a staffer shimmy open a window. It was that warm. It’s like the room’s thermostat didn’t even work…

The Drake is located just a few steps from the shopping on Michigan Avenue. Rosebuds Steakhouse is down the street too. I would highly recommend eating there. We loved staying at the Drake. It was nice to have two bathrooms in our room also. We will definitely stay there again!

The only thing that we didn’t like is the room was not cleaned properly. The bed was made up but the rug wasn’t vacuum and the tub seems someone put a foot or shoe print.

I thought everything was very good except for the water flow from the sink faucet. It was very minimal. Shower was good, however. Room was clean. The Drake is in an excellent location and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Christmas Getaway
Great location but the rooms are beat up and dingy. Chipping paint, peeling wall paper and very outdated and weathered furniture. Would be nice if they remodeled but kept the authentic feel. Walls are THIN! You can hear everything in the room next door.
