The house inside was tastefully decorated. However, we couldn't make use of the upstairs bedrooms due to heavy cigarette smoke smell but the smell was not on the main floor.
There must have been a smoking party going on upstairs prior to our arrival. We purposely left the house vacant for the first day, arrived on the second day instead to ensure the health safety due to Covid 19. We tried to sleep upstairs the first night we were there and the cigarette smoke triggered my and other family member's asthma. For the rest of the vacation, we slept on the couch and wooden floor in the living room. We informed the management company 3 times- left the message the first time, called again and the lady on the phone said that she will let the manager know, called the 3rd time and they just ignored. Upon arrival on our first day, we had to remove all the quilt blankets on all the beds due to the heavy smoke smell and put them in the closet and closed the doors. On the day that we left, we tightened up the house and were looking for these blankets in the closets and couldn't find them. When we dropped off the keys at the office on our departure day, I mentioned to the lady who claimed she was the one answered the phone the second time I called that she entered the house one day while we were out and took the blankets in the closets away. I asked her why she didn't ask to enter the house and her response was that she thought that we had a 'mutual understanding' (I am not sure what that was). We were shocked and disgusted at the response. She never called to ask if she could go in and remove the blankets or let us be aware of her coming, she never called to check up to see how we were doing, she never called to see if there could be anything that she could do to remove the smoke smells or at least tried to do something. She was never supposed to enter the house while we were there without our consent, especially during this pandemic. The management company handled the situation very immaturely and unprofessionally. They chose to ignore their responsibility and only did things to cover up for their mishaps. Overall, I have NEVER written a poor review but for the first time for the safety of my and my family, I am writing it. Hopefully the management company reads this and have theirs staffs retrained on how to handle the situation the right way with their customers.
