This perfectly restored and flawlessly maintained 1930's Retro Cottage is your ticket to a stay in the highly sought after Fort Grounds neighborhood of downtown Coeur d'Alene.
Our Charming Cottage is the perfect refuge to whisk your troubles away. The sounds of a flowing water feature, colorful gardens, were all lovingly created to inspire the essence of family and home. This is a place where you might find joy and happiness. The Charming Cottages neighborhood (Fort Grounds) is rich in history and is a dedicated National Historical District. It is located just a few minutes walk from Lake Coeur d,Alene (beaches and parks) and the downtown CDA Resort, shopping, art galleries, restaurants, bar and grills and vibrant nightlife.
The house has been restored and has all modern appliances yet has kept its 1930's ambiance and roots. From the quaint front room to the three bedrooms and spacious and well apportioned kitchen to the nice deck and water feature it offers a quiet get away from all the business of the downtown commercial appeal, yet only a short walk away. Rent kayaks and canoes at the beach, have fun at the parks or hop on CDA's extensive bicycling and running trail just minutes walk from the front door.
A short drive to the east and you are in the renowned Silver valley, a few miles north and you will arrive at Silverwood Theme Park and a little farther you will be a Schweitzer ski area.

Great day!
This was a great place for us as a family and with our two-year-old golden retriever. The fenced in backyard was secure. The house was clean. It is an older home but well kept. We loved the charm and will be back next year.

Cute cottage by the lake
Lovely cottage with plenty of space and early 20th century details. The house is about a mile walk along the lakeshore from downtown but is sited in a very quiet residential neighborhood. Street parking permits are included for two cars, the kitchen was well stocked and the entire house was very clean. My friends and I look forward to staying here again the next time we are in CDA.

Perfect Christmas cottage
We enjoyed our stay over Christmas. Communication was wonderful, check in was a breeze and we were so excited to find a Christmas tree and decorations. We enjoyed a very quiet holiday with walks to the lake, books by the fireplace, puzzles and cozy naps in the extremely comfortable beds! If we ever have a need for another stay in CDA we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Charming old home with everything you could ever need.

Very cute house with a lot of charm! Close enough to down town to walk. House and host were great! Only parking is on the road and only 2 parking passes provided, so that should be accounted for. Everything else about the stay was fantastic! Would book here again.

Wonderful little cottage!
This little cottage was super clean, well stocked with everything that you might need. The hot tub was clean and the salt water was perfectly balanced. We had another great stay at Glen’s Vrbo! The home is an easy, quick walk to the lake and Sherman Avenue. The neighborhood is just great and it is fun to walk around and see all of the unique homes. The fenced back yard is top notch if you are traveling with a four-legged friend. Fall is a fantastic time to visit CDA as there are beautiful leaves everywhere. We will definitely be back!

Loved this cottage
I loved the cottage the moment I saw it, and as we walked through the house, I loved it more and more. It is cozy, but not cramped. Nicely updated and tastefully decorated, with a well-equipped kitchen. The backyard was a pleasant surprise. Although no grass for kids to play in, it has a beautiful stone water feature, as well as a large hot tub. When we had a minor glitch with the hot tub, we appreciated that Glen was quick to respond and come fix it. We’d love to return.

This is the second time that my husband, our fur baby, and I have stayed at Glen’s house. We had another wonderful trip! The location is fantastic as it is within walking distance to the lake, parks, restaurants etc. The house has everything that we needed and the fenced backyard is just great! Perfect CDA Weekend
We are very familiar with CDA so we knew that this is house would be a great location. We walked downtown each day(10-15min) and walked the dog on the trail along the river in the mornings. House was very clean! I could tell deep cleaning had been done. Kitchen was well stocked. Bed was comfy. Nice little back yard with one of the better hot tubs we’ve had at a vacation rental.
