The Conestoga Cottage is a delightfully rustic, three-bedroom retreat nestled in the peaceful village of Safe Harbor, surrounded by beautiful acres of wild countryside and only 18 minutes from downtown Lancaster! The Cottage boasts a farmhouse style kitchen, a dining room filled with natural light, a large living room with a fireplace, three beautiful bedrooms, a front porch, a rear yard for the kids to play in, hot tub and private patio, as well as access to nearby trails and the river park.
The living room: Has two large couches, two accent chairs, and an operable fireplace. Filled with natural light at all hours of the day due to the windows facing east, west, and north. The TV is a 50" Firetv with Netflix and Disney+ ready to play. The closet nearest the entrance contains some boards games and puzzles for those who enjoy entertainment other than television.
The dining room: As charming as a dining room gets! The table can seat up to 8 people (ideally 6, though), and is decorated with plants and knick-knacks. As with the living room, it lets in beautiful, soft light most of the day. Contains a high-chair for those travelling with young ones.
The kitchen: Fully stocked for any meal you wish to prepare during your stay with silverware, plates, cups, mugs, cooking utensils, baking sheets, pots, pans, bowls, spices, oil, and more. Contains a 12-cup coffee maker and an electric kettle for those who prefer tea. Fridge is always stocked prior to guests' arrival with a few complimentary drinks.
The kids bedroom: Three twin beds ideal for the kids, or extra beds for larger groups travelling without children. Stocked with some toys for those families with young children.
Bedroom 1: One queen bed, and a desk for those travelling with work.
Bedroom 2: One queen bed, and a rope hammock swing to relax in with a book or an afternoon nap!
Back patio: Fire pit, propane grill, four Adirondack chairs, and a hot tub!
Kayaking: the Conestoga River is right across the road from the village, a one minute drive. If you enjoy kayaking, this is the place for you! It's easy to launch from Safe Harbor Park, and from the Conestoga, you can easily go to the Susquehanna River, which it pours into. If you have a boat, the Pequea Boat Launch is just 10 minutes away.

The Village at Safe Harbor is a historic community built in the 1930s as a project by the local Safe Harbor Dam to provide housing to workers. This type of use has been retired for quite some time now and the village serves as a small, quiet community nestled in the countryside. Noises are mild and pedestrian traffic is low.
There are plenty of nearby hiking trails, walking paths, and a playground for the kids at the park across the street.
Only about 1/2 mile walk to the Conestoga River and less than 1 mile to the Susquehanna River. Bring a kayak or canoe, as the launch is located right in Safe Harbor Park, a 10 minute walk from the cottage!
Two parking spaces are available for guests: one in front of the garage, and the other directly facing the rear yard next to the garage.
Extras:
-Blankets (in linen closet)
-Extra blow-up mattress (in linen closet)
-Toy and games
-Ironing board and iron (bedroom 2 closet)
-Cooler (foyer closet)
-Free washer and dryer (with complimentary detergent and softener)

Fireplace:
-Flue must be open the whole way. Simply push up on the trap inside the fireplace.
-Logs are stored near fireplace. Paper is in the foyer closet. Extra wood, if needed, is in the garage. Never use fireplace without guard and always have at least one person supervising the fire at all times. Fire must be put out COMPLETELY before leaving or retiring for bed.
If using the grill, you must clean it after you are finished
Cellular connection: Depending on your provider, you may have little to no cell service in the village where the home is located. Verizon customers usually experience more issues here than AT&T or T-mobile.
