Coober Pedy's scorching summer heat was no match for the cool comfort of our underground dugout! At a steady 23 degrees, it was a welcome respite from the blistering temperatures outside. Despite a sudden flash flood that swept through the town, our elevated dugout remained completely unaffected.
While the main bed might have been a bit firm for some, we slept soundly each night, undisturbed by any discomfort. The property's lack of air conditioning was a non-issue, as the constant cool temperature and a gentle fan breeze kept us perfectly comfortable.
Raymond, the caretaker, was incredibly hospitable. He not only ensured a smooth check-in but also went the extra mile by taking us on a fascinating tour of his opal mine. His warm hospitality and local insights truly enhanced our stay.
We can't wait to return to this unique and peaceful retreat.
