Overall, the house is nice and well-maintained, and the sound of the river was a peaceful touch. However, we were disappointed by a few aspects.
First, while the photos make the property seem secluded, it’s not as private as we had hoped. There are neighbors on both sides and a large neighborhood across the river, so it didn’t feel as remote as expected. Additionally, while the area is great for nature lovers, the cabin itself doesn't offer that same "escape" into nature—it felt more like a place to sleep rather than a retreat.
Another issue was the noise.
We could hear at least three dogs barking consistently, both day and night, which made it hard to relax or enjoy the outdoor spaces. The backyard, which we thought would be private, isn’t fully enclosed, and it didn’t provide the tranquility we were looking for.
A final concern was the $50 pet fee, which was charged automatically but wasn’t disclosed anywhere in the reservation details or policies. I reached out to the host about this, but unfortunately, she was not willing to address it and told me to contact VRBO.
If you're looking for a place to stay while you explore the surrounding area, this cabin works for that purpose.
However, if peace and quiet are important to you, this might not be the best fit.
