Crackenback 1884 was the first settled cottage in the Crackenback Valley.
Since then it has been a post office, local store, family residence and is now a cosy home away from home for guests looking for a magical mountain escape.
The Heritage Cottage has been updated with a modern kitchen that includes induction and gas cooking appliances, dishwasher and oven.
There is a wood fire which was the original heating for the cottage. Fire wood is provided during Winter ¿ from long weekend to long weekend. There is also gas and electric heating in the cottage If you do not want to use the fire.
Crackenback 1884 is close to Thredbo, access to Perisher is by the ski tube 9 km up the road, the Thredbo River for trout fishing and swimming in the summer, as well as the Thredbo Valley Trail for mountain bike riding, you can also use the Alpine way for road riding. Your mountain holiday passion is close by. If you need a quiet break then you can relax and enjoy the stunning rural outlook down the valley from your veranda. Or maybe just curl up with a book.
Finally, we have stocked our cottage with a few simple kitchen supplies and breakfast supplies for your first early morning. Life should be about the simple things!
