Rural Retreat in Idyllic Countryside - ideal for fishing , dogs & walks
This cosy cottage is in a wonderfully peaceful and idyllic rural location in the Weald of Kent. With great local walks, surrounded by farm life & the opportunity to fish in the adjacent lake, it’s a great holiday location for all the family. This self contained, newly decorated cottage, complete with wood burning stove, sleeps 4/5 and is well fitted out for all guests holiday requirements both inside & out. Guests are able to enjoy alfresco entertaining in the outdoor dining/bbq area, with fire pit, sun loungers and garden toys, or enjoy a drink overlooking the fishing lake, all in its secure, dog friendly garden.
.
Surrounded by farmland, wildflower meadows, footpaths, quiet lanes and bridle ways, it has great views over the surrounding countryside. It is well located to explore nearby attractions of Kent including National Trust properties and local vineyards, in addition, Staplehurst station a short drive away gives access for day trips to London or the coast.
There are many award winning excellent local pubs and restaurants within just a short drive or a walk across footpaths from the cottage.
The cottage sleeps 4/5 in two bedrooms, one double, one twin bedded room and a sofa bed is available for an extra guest. All bed linen, towels and toiletries are provided.
The kitchen is fully fitted with electric hob/oven, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave, all cooking utensils, crockery, dishwasher and washer/dryer.
The property is securely fenced with its own private garden and views of the adjacent lake and countryside. There is also an adjacent field, securely fenced that that guests are able to use to exercise their dogs if required, please just advise at the time of booking.
There is private parking for two cars next to the cottage.
Nearest shopping facilities are well catered for in Hawkhurst some 2 miles away, with two supermarkets, four pubs with dining, several takeaway facilities, cafe, small cinema and other local independent shops.

Coming from somewhere thats pretty noisy it was a so nice to have some peace and quiet - just what we needed! The cottage is only 5 or so mins from Hawkhurst which has a Waitrose and Tesco, yet its really rural - no road noise, surrounded by fields. Amazing sunsets from the terrace - there is a fire pit and BBQ. Julia made sure we were happy - thanks for the Presseco, eggs and bread. We forgot toothpaste but again, provided! It makes a great base for visiting Kent / Sussex - Hastings was about 30 mins, Leeds Castle 40 mins. We also visited a great vineyard about 20 mins away. Genuinely the best UK accommodation we've experienced so thanks so much! June 2021
Great little find. Lovely location, completely secure garden for our dog so that was perfect and very important to us so we could relax. The chalet had everything we needed. The farmer also allowed my son to fish his lake which we really enjoyed. Lovely and quiet spot but close to some fantastic pubs, cafes, farm shops and scenery. Thanks Julia for your great communication and all the little extras such as bread, eggs, Prosecco, toiletries. June 2021
It is in the most beautiful setting, beside a farm in the middle of the beautiful Kent countryside - perfect for rural walks and runs. It was very clean and tidy, and was the best equipped place we have ever stayed in - there was absolutely everything we could possibly have needed, from eggs, milk and butter in the fridge, to washing up liquid, soap and hand sanitiser in the kitchen, and Andy the farmer even brought us a parasol for the outside table and charcoal for the barbecue (we were very lucky with the weather!) We would thoroughly recommend this place as a getaway for couples or small families. June 2021
