Welcome to our Ultra-Modern Mountain Escape, a stunning 2-bd, 2-bath retreat located above the legendary Mt. Crested Butte Ski Resort. This luxurious, contemporary mountain house offers unparalleled views, exceptional amenities, easy access to trails, and ski-in/out winter access to the base area.
We are normally living on site and are available to make your stay a pleasant and memorable experience. This allows us to provide a more catered experience and we are always willing to offer our favorite places to see and things to do.
We are located at the end of Cinnamon Mountain Road in a quiet neighborhood in a cul-de-sac. Trails from the cul-de sac access numerous mountain bike and hiking trails and the mountain base area. In winter, you can ski down to the base area and back to the house (blue runs), if conditions permit.
Guests can access the guesthouse down 2 1/2 flights of stairs. Easy to access Ski/snowboard gear storage is available in a shared mud room at driveway level. The Guest house is the entire ground floor of the main house. The private patio with fire pit, two outdoor sofas , six person hot tub, and grill is for guests use only and is not shared.
Perched high above the Mt Crested Butte ski area, with breathtaking views, this guesthouse is the perfect vacation spot for winter enthusiasts. Intermediate skiers can grab their skis from the shared, heated mud room at driveway level and ski right down to the base area. Skiing back is just as easy from painter boy lift via homeowners run to Columbine Hill. Beginner skiers can easily access the base area on a free, on-demand shuttle or drive the short distance down to the main parking lot. Just completed in 2021, the lower level of our house has a beautiful walk-out patio with fire pit, grill and private six person hot tub. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating to view your favorite shows on the 55 inch smart TV. This high-tech, modern house has in-floor radiant heat and a whole house ventilator that provides continuous, humidified fresh mountain air. Full sized washer and dryer are available for use in the guesthouse. The fully-equipped modern kitchenette has a precise induction cooktop, coffee maker, air fryer, drawer microwave and dishwasher. Four comfortable stools on the cooktop peninsula make dining-in a pleasure. Watch the sun set after a long day of skiing from the king sized bed in the master suite. The second bedroom has an amazing accent wall fully lit with led string lights. A large double vanity bathroom with massaging, penny-tiled shower floor is located next to the second bedroom. A very comfortable queen sized pull-out bed with mountain views is also located in the living room. Access to the guesthouse is down two and a half flights of stairs but plenty of gear storage is available in a shared, heated mud room at driveway level. This makes it an easy to unload gear directly into the mudroom and not have to haul it up and down stairs. Easy parking for two cars is available right off the street on a flat driveway. Two off street parking spaces are available on the relatively flat driveway. Guests are encouraged to have 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicles in winter since driveway and roads can be slippery. There is now a free Uber type service that will transport you back-and-forth from our house to the base area transit center. There is also a free bus to/from Mt. Crested Butte base area to town that will carry bikes but space can be limited. The base are is accessible directly from the house in the summer by a walking trail (approximately 10 min). A late night bus is available that will bring you right to our door. There is also a free bus between Gunnison and Mt. Crested Butte.
From DIA: A short train ride will take you to Union station where you can take a 6 hour bus to Crested Butte. The bus leaves at 1:50 pm. The return bus to DIA leaves Crested Butte at 5:15 am and arrives at Union station at 10:50 am.
NOTE: There is residential construction ~300 ft. from the guest house.
Winter ski in and ski out access can be influenced by weather and snow conditions. Skiers must be comfortable on blue runs. Beginner skiers should plan on driving to the base area or taking the free on-call shuttle service.
Kitchenette does not have a full size oven but has a large toaster oven/air fryer.
