The Space:
Welcome to “The Boardwalk,” a stunning oceanfront condominium located in the popular Sandy Lane Villas on the serene Bloody Point beach of Daufuskie Island. This beautifully designed three-bedroom, three-bath retreat offers everything you need for the perfect family vacation or getaway with friends. Enjoy the gentle ocean breeze from your two-sided balcony, complete with sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean and the inviting resort pool facility, making it an idyllic sanctuary to relax and take in the beach atmosphere.
The spacious layout of this condo comfortably accommodates six guests. The master bedroom features a private full bath and captivating ocean views, while the second bedroom boasts a king bed and an adjoining full bath. The Neighborhood:
Sandy Lane Villas
The Sandy Lane Villas are perched at the edge of the historic Bloody Point beach. (This was the site of ferocious battles between Native Americans and British soldiers in the early 1700's.) The wonderful quiet and secluded beach is just steps away from your villa via a picturesque boardwalk over the beach dunes.
The large sunny pool between the complex and the beach dunes provides a fun destination for the whole family.* Along with spacious decking and ample lounge chairs is a shaded area for grilling. The beautiful architecture of Sandy Lane is in evidence with its many columns, arches, pillars and balustrades. The grounds have been professionally landscaped with palms and flowering plantings. This beautiful hideaway is flanked by pines, oaks and palms.
DAUFUSKIE ISLAND
Your villa is located on one of the best-kept secrets on the eastern coast: Daufuskie Island. Your home overlooks 3 miles of pristine, quiet beaches where all you can hear is the sound of gentle waves and beautiful shore birds. Watch the shrimp boats, bike or ride horses along the beach, take a Historic tour and discover the Gullah History of Daufuskie or take in a round of golf. Don't forget to try our island delicacy, deviled crabs! Better still, we'll help arrange a full low-country dinner prepared by a local resident to be delivered directly to your cottage.
History buffs will enjoy exploring the island and visiting various sites providing a glimpse into the past, including the recently-restored Oyster House used as a 19th century Gullah meeting place, the Billie Burns Museum, ancient cemeteries, and the two-room school house where renowned author Pat Conroy taught and which was the subject of his first book, The Water is Wide.
Getting Around:
****** IMPORTANT NOTES - You will have to take a passenger only boat ride to get to Daufuskie, which is a bridge-less island located between Hilton Head SC and Savannah, GA. We are happy to provide information about various ferry and water taxi options, ground transportation shuttle from dock to rental and golf cart rentals. Fees Apply. **** *Any change in the operation of the Sandy Lane villa pool is solely at the discretion of the building management and not within the control of Daufuskie Rental Group.
Note: The Bloody Point Resort is currently closed, and at this time its restaurant and golf course are not available. You will need to take a passenger only ferry to get to the island, book ground transportation shuttle from dock to rental and get a golf cart rental. DRG is here to help with the logistics!
Other Things to Note:
PET POLICY:
Well-behaved canine family members are welcome, but must be adult dogs, housetrained, must stay off of furniture, not be incessant barkers, and must be friendly towards humans and other dogs. Upon departure, the vacation home should look as though no pet had been in it, including removal of pet hair. There is a pet fee of $125 for one dog, and $175 for two dogs.
In addition, the property manager must approve all pet requests. Your dog must be over one year old, not be aggressive towards people or other pets, be house trained, will not get up on the furniture, and is ok with being left alone when you are away from the cottage (e.g., no incessant barking or destructive behavior). We also ask that you be a responsible pet owner when the dog is outside, that there will be no signs that your pet was in the property when you depart, and that you will be responsible for any damage and/or extra cleaning caused by your dog.
Interaction with Guests:
Your DRG property manager will help facilitate your rental of one or more golf carts so that you can explore Daufuskie Island, including restaurants, art galleries, and historic sites.

Guests receive information and assistance from the DRG team, all of whom live on the island and who are available 24/7 for any problems. Team members strive to create a stress-free and enjoyable adventure for their visitors, and to ensure that their Daufuskie experience creates lasting and once-in-a-lifetime memories.
