This is an amazing location on the island, and the price isn't bad. However, the listing could be clearer about the fact that this is only one side of a duplex (i.e., the photo could point to the side available for rent, instead of the middle of the house).
Also, the kitchen was disorganized and poorly stocked (salt shaker was empty, 1 tbs. of olive oil in bottle). No ice/water in fridge and no ice trays. Only one paper towel roll and two toilet paper rolls, watered down soap in kitchen/bathrooms. We were only able to use one of the burners, as two of the other burners would smoke upon turning heat on, and the other one was so tilted, we couldn't cook food evenly. The walls are thin, and we heard crying children several times a day. We had to purchase quite a bit of items (ice trays, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning spray, salt, oil, spices) to be able to cook our meals and clean the house during our stay.
The fishing is excellent, kayaks are nice and perfect to take out at sunset on the bay, and it's an all-around good, quiet location on the island. Given that this was our honeymoon, I was disappointed to not find the house set up more hospitably. Yes, it is older and he is making efforts to update it, but I think the larger issue is an overall feeling that this is being done as cheaply as possible to maximize profit instead of making guests feel at home.
