Our sustainable family farm is set on 5 acres in rural Indiana, replete with pastures, vegetable gardens, woodlands, and beautiful views of rolling hillside. We're passionate about being responsible stewards of the land, growing our food using ecologically beneficial methods, and we strive to teach others about how to grow their own food. Come stay with us to learn a little about sustainable farming, take a tour of the farm and say hello to our hogs, horses, sheep, and chickens, or just sit back and enjoy your stay in this cozy private cottage in the countryside. We operate a CSA with our farm-grown foods, and we invite you to pre-order veggies and meats to be waiting for you in the home when you arrive. Or, book a farm-to-table Farm Tour & Dinner for a 3-course meal prepared with our home-grown foods in addition to your stay, followed by a conversation around the fire (Sunday nights only, from June-August).
The cottage is located in a private wooded area, about a mile down a country lane from the main 80-acre farm. It's well-maintained and spacious, with three bedrooms, a full kitchen, a reading nook with some books, and lovely views of the farm. Return home for a cozy evening inside after a day of exploring the farm, checking out the nearby hiking areas, spending a day out on the water, or sightseeing in Monticello. We're out in the countryside here, which means that there's plenty of nature to see and great views of the stars on clear nights, though it also means that our wifi signal can be pretty slow -- take this as an opportunity to take some time away from the screens.
Not far from the farm is the quaint town of Monticello, which has a water park, good fishing spots, lakes, and a reenactment of the French and Indian War every October. We're also less than an hour's drive from Purdue University, which has basketball and football games in season, and we're close to Hoosier Heartland Highway. About a mile from the farm there's a place to put a boat in the river, if you're looking to spend some time on the water during your trip. Let us know if you'd like recommendations on what to do while you're here. We look forward to hosting you!
