My husband and I spent a week in this hill country oasis and loved it even in the midst of the near record-breaking heat. The pool is spotless and, in the mornings (especially) the water was cool. Deer were everywhere; a treat to watch from both the pool and home. The large umbrellas on the pool deck also made things nice and shady in the afternoon. Stars were amazing at night. Also, I usually bring my own pillow because I'm so picky. I had forgotten mine at home, so I was extremely and pleasantly relieved to be lulled to sleep in a super comfy bed, with super comfy linens and pillow! The home is full of great natural light, bird watching from the air conditioned inside was such fun, the screened porches were so peaceful and walking in the area was lovely. While we were not able to use it due to the burn ban in effect, the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit were a comfy place for morning coffee. The only thing I would note--which we were aware of, but others may not be--and that is, the Wimberley/Driftwood area is not the best for internet. That's why it's such a great getaway. Our cell phone hot spots worked just fine for knocking out some unanticipated work, but without that, it would have been tricky. That's not enough to keep us from returning, though, as this was an awesome and relaxing getaway!
