This beautiful Montana home is both elegant and cozy, perfectly designed to relax and connect with family and friends.
As you enter the home, you are greeted with beautiful modern wooden stairs headed up to the second floor, or to your left you will find the wonderful open concept gathering room open to the kitchen, dining room, and living room. The kitchen is a chef's dream with all you will need to gather and create scrumptious meals complete with a gas stove, bar seating, and dining for 8. The living area has a gas fireplace where you can warm up on those cool mountain evenings and play a game, read a book, or watch a dvd. The living room sitting area overlooks the backyard, outdoor covered porch with dining area, gas grill, Adirondack chairs around the fire pit and all placed perfectly to enjoy the fun of the trains coming and going through the mountain pass.
Upstairs you will find three bedrooms, two baths, and a laundry area. Bedroom #1 with a king size bed and private balcony along en-suite bathroom. Bedroom #2 also has a king size bed and balcony with an en-suite bathroom that is a jack-n-jill style bathroom that connects to the bunk room. Bedroom #3, the bunk room, has two sets of twin extra long bunk beds and is located between bedrooms 1 and 2.
Great Northern Hideaway luxury home is a family friendly home in a neighborhood that is very quiet and does not work for late gatherings or rowdy parties. If you are planning late night, full volume gatherings this home is not for you. Thank you for understanding. This property is perfectly situated just 27 miles from West Glacier and 29 miles to East Glacier, featuring 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, 1 half bathroom, and equipped to host families or groups of up to 8 people.
Please note that the house is located approximately 150 feet from the mainline of the BNSF railroad, with great viewing of trains from the beautiful back porch or fire pit. You can expect approximately 20 trains per day along this line. Trains do not start and stop in this location and there are no crossings nearby, so the trains don’t blow their whistles in this vicinity. You will, however, hear them passing by. The house is very well insulated but if you are a light sleeper you may want to take advantage of the earplugs supplied in each bedroom.

Hiking
There are plenty of trails for fabulous hiking around Essex and Pinnacle. You can hike the Dickey Creek Trail. On this 4.8-mile trail, you need to be aware that the hike starts out as a moderate trek but becomes strenuous from the head of the valley to the lake. Another short hike is the Marion Lake Trail through the spruce forest. If you like longer trips, take the 18.8-mile trail from Walton Ranger Station to the Scalplock Lookout. This day hike takes you to the breathtaking vistas of the Flathead Range and snowy peaks of the Bob Marshall Wilderness.
Winter Sports
The Essex Ski Trail system provides gentle grades and enough snow to make your adventure one of the best. Snowshoeing is a wonderful recreational activity, traveling over the white landscapes of this pristine wilderness. Try the route from the Fielding Picnic Area to Ole Creek.

You will need a vehicle to get to and from the cabin as well as explore the area with ease. As a more rural area there are very few public transport and uber like options.
**WINTER ADVISORY**- Please note that October - April we highly recommended a 4-wheel or All-wheel drive vehicle, as you never know what the weather will be like in Montana.
