Location is very central to everything touristy: right next to the Basilica S Lorenzo (literally across the street), the leather market (during the day, the front door is hidden by the leather vendors' stalls), and maybe a 10 min walk from the Duomo and 15 min from the Uffizi. About a 10 min walk from the train station, with luggage. We stayed in Monnalisa. Roomy, quaint, comfortable. Bathroom was ok and kitchen too (didn't really use kitchen). Our only challenge was the check-in. I didn't read the fine print that said check-in from 5-7pm in one document, and after 3pm in another. We were there at 2:30 and nobody answered the door. And we had tickets for a guided tour at the Uffizi at 3:00. Luckily, one of the other residents in the building arrived and let us in, and directed us to the reception desk. We left our luggage, with a note. The owner then contacted us later that afternoon and we managed to check in that evening. If you think you will be arriving outside the posted times, I suggest you contact the owner and make arrangements first. Overall good place, reasonable cost and good location. Would stay again.
