This adorable seaside cottage sleeps up to 6 comfortably in the 'Best Gulf Beach Town as rated by Gulf Shores Magazine. Fish N' Ships sits in the pedestrian beach area. Located on a corner lot near the jetty, just a short walk down the beach. The front of the house is lined with windows to let in plenty of natural light and spacious views. Open concept living area with lovely beach decor throughout the home.

Surfside is paradise for those with many interests offering some of the best surfing and birding in Texas. With its unique octagonal design, this beach house offers amazing 360 degree views. The aptly named, Fish-n-Ships features a large deck to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and views of the beach, along with the Texas Ship Channel where ships arrive from all over the world and the fishing is world class! Next door is a play park, volleyball courts and a splash pad.

Discover a variety of activities nearby since you are steps away from one of the best surfing breaks on the Gulf Coast and ample beach to set out your sun chairs. Head to the jetty to watch the fun from the granite surf bench, look for dolphins dancing in the waves, or grab your fishing tackle to cast your luck for the prized trout or bull red. Try crabbing at the nearby crabbing pier. No luck? No worries! Surfside has several eateries to enjoy fresh food for lunch or dinner.

A few blocks north is the site of the first battle of the Texas Revolution where you can see a replica of historic Fort Velasco. Stop along your walks in the beautiful Butterfly Park and Nature Preserve or relax in this quiet sanctuary, and even enjoy a spectacular Texas Sunset. Better yet head back to the house and fire up the outdoor grill and enjoy some of the best sunset views in all of Surfside right off your back porch!

Relax after a fun-filled day by watching a movie with the family or sitting out in the fresh air to star gaze the southern skies. Plan for some early morning birding in the hopes of spotting numerous local favorites such as the Roseate Spoonbill, the Snow Egret, and the great Blue Heron before you drift off to sleep with the ocean waves gently crashing along the shore in the background.

The location was great. The house was cute and had everything we needed for our stay. There was a maintenance issues we discovered upon arrival, and property management sent someone over right away to fix the issue. We did not encounter any other issues during our stay. We had a really nice time.

Four retired guys just came down to fish and relax It could not have been any better Well maybe if the walls went all the way to the ceiling because yiu can see light from the other rooms if yiu go to bed before anybody else. Great overall tho and would def go back

Great location for fishing ,surfing and beach…
We went to Surfside primarily to fish by the jetty for 4 days.Although the weather was messed up a bit by hurricane Francine, most of the time we were able to walk to the jetty and fish.One of the single bed I slept on rocks side to side whenever I turn on the bed.Upon inspection under the bed something is definitely broken.They need to repair or replace it.Thats the only complaint we have for a quaint old beach house located ideally for fishing,surfing or just laze by the beach .All are just a minute or two walk from the cottage.Bring your own water cuz the tap water is yellowish and taste funny.Bring mosquitoes spray and repellent.Lots of them attacking us the moment we go outside.Hate them mosquitoes.Even with repellent they still attack you.Overall,we like the cottage but hope the owners will consider allowing pets so we can bring them in the future.

Cute beach house!
1 minute walk to the beach and awesome views of the boats coming in and out. House was clean and had everything you needed. My only complaint is that the shower is super small. PSA: 1-Bring your own water to drink 2-Jetty Shack is down the street and have really good burgers

This was the perfect location for us! The kitchen was well-stocked. We spent a lot of time on the deck and walking on the beach. The host was a great communicator.

Unpleasantly Surprised
The location of the property is amazing but this is where the good things end. The house smelled musty upon initial entry, the bedroom walls are not floor to ceiling so there is no privacy, the queen bed is extra firm, cabinet doors coming off hinges, mildew/mold heavily present in the shower, bedroom door won’t close dragging on the floor, rusty coffee pot, no vent for the stove, and the list could go on. This property has the potential to be great with minor repairs/upkeep and a deep clean. I did read reviews prior to booking the location and thought some of the issues would have already been addressed since there are so many five star reviews. I hope these issues are addressed for future guests comfort to make their stay more enjoyable.

Fun Time with Friends at the Beach
Property was as described. Very close to the beach, maybe a minute walk. House had massive amounts of drink ware! There are both a Keurig and Mr. Coffee drip style. They also had a hot water pot which was quite handy. As noted, you have a starter supply of base paper products. Don’t forget your shower needs as they (shampoo, bath soap) are not provided. The home was aging and could use some basic maintenance on cabinet doors and electrical outlet covers. The deck was expansive and had a lot of seating. There was also a lot of seating inside the house. It was very quiet as far as outside noise coming into the house. The AC worked great in the house! The beds were fine- did not notice the “hard” mattress situation mentioned in other reviews. Not many options for good food in the area. Best place we found was Belly’s on the Brazos in Freeport. Convenience store is about a mile up the road for forgotten needs and there is a Bucee’s 2-3 miles away. There is also a super Walmart in Lake Jackson if needed. Very much a fishing beach! If you love to fish, this is the place for you! Your family can have fun in the sun on the beach while you are casting a line. We enjoyed strolling along the Jetty and watching the big ships come and go. Be sure to bring drinkable water as the water in the home is a tad off color and salty.

It was fun watching tankers go by. And the home is just across the street from the beach. I built sand castles and a big sand sea turtle. Great fun. We celebrated hubby’s birthday.

Loved it. We were there during rainy weather but it was great. The location was great for watching the shoreline plus the large ships going in and out of the port. We spent a great deal of time enjoying the local birds.
