2 Bedroom very nicely decorated in simple but modern style apartment. Double bedroom with built in wardrobes and plenty of storage, The second bedroom has twin beds which can also be joined together again with built in wardrobes.The lounge/dining area is bright and very comfortable, with large french windows to enjoy the excellent view of the Lido and promenade available to our guests is WiFi , cable TV and DVD player. A well equip kitchen with a small balcony to the back and a granite bathroom with tub and over head shower. Also available is a secure indoor garage if our guest wishes to hire a car and have guaranteed parking space.

Winter stay in Sao Martinho

The apartment was in an ideal position for our holiday, has sea views, was an ideal size for us and had all of the equipment that we needed. We had one query very soon after we arrived. The owners Carol and her husband are very friendly and attended to our query very quickly. We would happily stay there again.

Apartment was very clean & as presented in listing. Carol is a pleasant, nice hostess and was there to check us in with instructions & thoughtful suggestions. Very good restaurants (O Dragoeiro and Goldi) & nice bakery down the road, nearby within easy walking distance. Also walkable to shops & more eateries, farther down the hill on street below. Just a tip ... Check supplies for your food & sundries list. We had to buy coffee pods, laundry and bath soap.

Brilliant flat, so well equipped with good internet connection, washing machine, toaster, all types of machines for coffee, blender, iron, proper hairdrier. Really all those little things that make a stay that extra comfortable. Also, location so easy and the view from the living room is just something else.

Wonderful stay

We had a lovely time staying at Carol's apartment. It is in a great location, very convenient for shops, restaurants and buses into the city centre and old town. It is close to the lido area, but set back a bit from the main hotel drag. Well equipped, spacious and airy. A private outside space would have been ideal but there is a communal roof terrace. Carol was very friendly and helpful. There is a café/bakery (Ravioli) 2 minutes walk away for your morning nata and coffee. and restaurant O'Draghiro serves well cooked, reasonably priced food with great service about five minutes away. Great apartment, well situated and with a sea view

The apartment met our expectations from the information we had read. The photos show it just as it is. For the two of us there was ample space, and it would have been quite adequate for four people. It met the standards of cleanliness you would hope for, and was mostly well equipped. Not having to pack beach towels was a bonus! Carol was very helpful on arrival, and it was worth booking the driver from the airport as it was our first time in Madeira and it took us a couple of days to familiarise ourselves with the public transport network.

clean, tidy and well equipped apartment with great sea veiw.

we were met by Carol who was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment is well sited for local restaurants and bars, but expect some climbing around the area, steps and slopes etc. Bus service outside door, really cheap and reliable, loads to see and do. Nuns valley trip was excellent, booked at Sunrise tours on next road down, prices good. weather was good to us as well, so all in all. great time,great place and great holiday.

Well located apartment with lift. Frequent buses into town and nearby supermarket and coffee shop.

Really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. Nice view from the window and generally comfortable and clean. Just a slight problem with shower- the hot water could be intermittent.

Terrific apartment on fourth floor with ocean vista. Well equipped and comfortable. Good restaurants nearby, large shopping mall, local bakeries and mini supermarkets. Bus a five minute walk, five minutes to city centre. There is parking on the street. Parking in the underground garage is awkward and quite stressful, particularly the ramp in and out. We are Canadians, drive a bit larger cars, and park in generous parking spaces. Maybe Europeans accustomed to small cars/spaces and tricky ramps would have little difficulty.

Nice, good size apartment in good location

We enjoyed our stay. The apartment is quite spacious with 2 double bedrooms and very nice living/dinning room. Lovely view from the lounge. Beds were comfortable. There was plenty of towels and toilet paper. Kitchen was well equipped, again plenty of kitchen towels provided. Cath is a lovely landlady, very helpful. She left us some local fruits to try. The location is great, we walk to city centre every day. There are few supermarkets nearby as well as eating places.

Lovely apartment in good location

We really enjoyed our week in the apartment. Its spacious, well equipped, comfortable and quiet with wonderful sea views. The location is convenient for local shops, restaurants, a post office and other facilities. Its also only a short walk to several bus stops so accessing central Funchal and the southern, central and eastern parts of the island is easy. A car is probably needed for reaching the more remote northern and western parts unless organised trips are used. Cath was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We would recommend the apartment to family and friends and certainly use it again ourselves.

Great location, great home, great host

We stayed in early January, so the off-season, such as it is. The town was still full of visitors, and I could see Funchal being a mad-house. That makes this location even better. The home is located walking distance to plenty of great restaurants, bars, shopping, without being in the middle of it. Perfect spot to have a little calm and quiet, but having access to everything you'd want. The home is clean, cute, modern, with an amazing view. The picture of the rock and the sea is entirely accurate. That's your view from the couch. The house has security access, quiet neighbors, and is really comfortable. Our host arranged to have us picked up at the airport, deposited at the home, and met us there. Check in was really flexible, we arrived in the morning, left late in the afternoon. Maybe this is different when it's busier, but we really appreciated having the host work around our flights, and not requiring arbitrary check in and out times. She was super friendly, responded to questions promptly, including general tourist inquiries. I'd really recommend this place and our host Kath. Great experience in a great place.

Lovely apartment on top floor of four storey block.

This apartment has a fabulous view, overlooking the sea, and is in a relatively quiet area of the town. There are numerous bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk, and the apartment itself is spotlessly clean and well furnished. There is an allocated car space in the basement carpark, although it is a bit fiddly trying to park in it. Any car larger than a 'compact' would have difficulty fitting into the space. Both bedrooms have ample wardrobe space, and the kitchen, although small, has plenty of crockery and utensils. Would thoroughly recommend staying in this apartment.

The apartment was very homely and we were very comfortable there. It had everything we needed. Great view. Easy walk to restaurants, supermarket, Lido and promenade. Buses into Funchal nearby. Parking space for hire car very useful. Would happily stay there again. (Do not use google maps to get directions - they were hopeless and we had to be rescued by the lovely Cath!)

Ideal location, and beautiful view

The apartment was spacious and well equipped. Cath was very lovely, and met us at the apartment when we arrived. The view from the living room was beautiful. It was very close to a supermarket, and you can take a lazy stroll into Funchal in about 45 minutes. There is a parking space which makes the apartment all the more convenient. Unfortunately there was some unforeseen building work during our stay, which blocked the view, however we received some compensation for those days.
