Owner and son seemed to be nice. We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary. When we arrived at the property, we unpacked, made the bed and got settled in. Soon after, we had killed at least a dozen black carpenter ants. We called the owner and were told that he has a monthly pest spray done and they wouldn't come back out till there next visit and brought us a can of Raid to use. I am a maintenance supervisor for 56 elderly units and know if I have a monthly pest contract if I see bugs in between visits they come back for free. We then noticed the kitchen sink was improperly plumbed and leaking. we called the owner again, he said he was sorry we had this trouble and didn't have a maintenance man on the payroll. This would be quite evident the longer we stayed. He offered us another unit, but we were already settled in and put a bowl under the leak and said no. The exhaust fan cover in the bathroom kept falling off, the bath fan motor was on its last leg and then locked up, the freezer door handle was missing, the microwave door was cracked and separating, cobwebs on all valances, toilet loose on floor and seat loose on bowl, nails sticking up from rocking chair on porch, ants in jacuzzi tub, dry white residue from 2 tub jets, had to fight to open bath door cause it scraped the floor, spiders in different areas. I text the owner pictures and all these concerns and said I wasn't mad, just disappointed and asked for a refund for 1 night for all the problems.
