Relaxing getaway
This is, like others have said, an amazing property. The host greeted us and then left us to enjoy the property. The host has thought of almost everything so that his guest's stay is hassle-free. The location is excellent for relaxation and rejuvenation, but close to Kenilworth and regional centres such as Nambour. The access road is a little choppy due to the huge amounts of rain, but the host is trying to get a contractor to rebuild this and it's natural that this is difficult at the moment. If I had to give criticism I'd say that I'd recommend buying a bigger TV and a soundbar/sub system (a cheap one would be much better than the TV speakers) and a shelf for the shower (to hold shampoo etc). But these are really pedantic, and didn't really impact our enjoyment of the property.

Perfect little getaway! Highly recommend Oakey Creek Retreat!
If you want peace, seclusion, and the beautiful sounds of bird life this is the place to come, and it’s so neat and tidy! Far away enough to be away from it all but close enough to towns with plenty to see and do all around! It’s ideal for both a quick or long stay. 3 days was great but we didn’t want to leave! The hosts are so friendly and welcoming with great communication and the cabin is tucked so far away in the bush that you wouldn’t even know anyone else was around. Thank you for the Tim Tams, it was such a thoughtful extra touch that made our 20th wedding anniversary that little bit more special. We’ll definitely be back! Thanks for everything Gav! We had a ball!!

Awesome spot for some Rest and Relaxation!! Clean and tidy cabin. Great central location to the peaceful little hinterland townships, and old fashioned country hospitality. Also, Eumundi Markets and Sunshine coast beaches all within close proximity. Gavin ( host ) very welcoming.

Very pleasant place for a longer stay
This well equipped and very cosy home is situated at the end of a forested piece of land. It has a combined sitting room and kitchen and a semi separate sleeping room, with the bathroom in the middle. It overlooks a pond with still water in it despite the years of drought, with farmland bordering the forest behind it, forest to the left, some higher situated property visible through the trees to the right and forest left and behind you. There’s a lot of birdsounds and that makes just sitting on the veranda a very tempting day activity. Gavin is a great guy; we have only seen him the first day due to personal circumstances but he has been more than supportive all the time with the small things you sometimes want to know. The home is also a nice starting point for a trip to the Australian Zoo, take the inland route via Montville and you have an beautiful one hour drive as well.

Good place to stay
Very dry due to lack of rain. Wasn't lush or green like the advertisement on the Internet sites. Lots of bird life there. Cabin was great. Otherwise a quiet place to visit and to get away from the rat race. Probably go back in the winter months not in late spring or summer.

Clean, comfortable, peaceful - the perfect retreat!
We were so impressed with Oakey Creek Private Retreat. The setting was lovely with lots of birdlife and trees, it was so peaceful. The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had all the essentials, including a few treats, which was a nice surprise. We loved sitting on the patio, watching the sun go down, followed by sitting around the firepit and looking up at the night sky full of stars - bliss! Thank you, Gav and John, we will certainly be back for another stay!
