Beautiful and peaceful
My husband and I loved our visit. The home was so clean (a big deal for me), well-stocked, and beautifully decorated. Beds are super comfortable and the whole home is so spacious. The community is quiet and peaceful and views of the river are just spectacular. We will definitely visit again.

The views are stunning. The house is very nice. It's been remodeled and is super clean. We enjoyed the dock and fishing. Was fu9n to explore the local towns. Food and views at Merriror asting room were great.

Relaxing Get Away
The property was very nice inside, very comfortable, and also had nice outside areas from which to enjoy the beautiful view. All amenities that one would need to enjoy a relaxing vacation were available. This was our summer vacation, but we wanted to spend much of our time relaxing at a nice place with a great view to read, do crafts, etc. and this was a wonderful place for it. We would like to stay here again in the future.

Just lovely
The home is charming and equipped with almost everything a guest could need. The location is great. Views are spectacular. We caught fish, took long walks, and explored the area. Shops and restaurants in the middle peninsula and northern neck area that we visited were very nice. The hosts were very responsive. Will try to visit every year.

Our stay was just about perfect! A beautiful home on a beautiful property with every amenity we needed. The private dock was great for fishing and just relaxing. The owners were friendly and responsive. The area offers quaint little towns, nice shops and good eateries. Our four day get away was "just what the doctor ordered." We would not at all hesitate to rent the property again.

Relaxation at its Best!
We had a wonderful week at Lisa and Portia's lovely cottage! I could have stayed another week. The home is tastefully decorated and the view excellent. It is conveniently located to visit a number of different areas. My husband fished while I went to area potteries and vintage stores. Restaurants and grocery stores were never more that 20 minutes away and very easy drives. We rested, read and relaxed. The home is outfitted with every thing you need. We did a lot of cooking and enjoyed many dishes that we don't usually cook at home. My only disapointment was that we brought too much food and didn't get to try but one local restaurant. Thanks so much for letting us stay in your lovely home.

Perfect Getaway
This was one of the more relaxing vacations I have had. It was well worth the 6+ hour drive to get there. Once there it was zen time. Lots of things to do in the immediate area...lots of historical places to go. Even if you don't eat crabs, like me, it was fun to set out the trap and just go check every now and then and pull a few up. I will say they were all healthy looking crabs so the water must be very clean. Lisa was great. If there was a question we had she was on it. She stayed in contact to check in just to be sure all was good. She was very much on top of things...plus she has a great sense of humor. Overall I would rate this as one of the best vacations I have had and would definitely stay there again if the opportunity presents itself. 5+ Stars!

What a wonderful stay we had!!! The home was exactly as described and pictured! It was clean and had EVERYTHING we could possibly need!!! We relaxed on the porch, sat on the dock, cooked meals, rested after days of sightseeing, and just had a great mother-daughter trip!

Traveling for vacation. Stayed in another VRBO on the way which was not very nice. So when we walked into this property, it was like we were in heaven. So very comfortable. Beds were great! Clean. Comfortable. And always immediate communication with the property manager/owner. Will definitely return!

Relaxing & Comfortable Retreat
We had such a wonderful weekend at the Ferry Creek Retreat! The house is wonderful – clean, well maintained, and it smells lovely as well. It is perfect for a comfortable and relaxing place to curl up and read a book or just watch the river. Great experience all around. I would highly recommend Ferry Creek Retreat.

Serenity on Ferry Creek
This is the first time I've ever written that a place honestly lives up to all its pics on VRBO. Simply wonderful. I can sum up our stay like this -- we're already planning a return visit. It's an incredibly peaceful spot on a beautiful waterway and the house is situated perfectly to enjoy the river, wildlife, and beautiful sunsets. A wise woman wrote me that sometimes, you just need a reset...this wonderful place did it for us as soon as we arrived. My traveling partner commented several times how glad she was that I talked her into 4 days instead of 2 -- She's ready for a week now. This is truly a special place that will be in our hearts always. p.s. everything promised is there -- including a fun coffee station unto itself. The kitchen has everything a cook could need, but we went out for seafood, of course. In Urbana, I had crab cakes so good that we went back the next night. If you are looking for serenity in a beautiful, meditative spot -- you've found it. p.p.s. I left my new iPad there and was ready to drive all the way back to retrieve it but to my deep appreciation, I had to drive only halfway -- Lisa, I really can't thank you enough for that kindness!
