Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
The location is beautiful surrounded by mountains. It's very quiet and peaceful. The cabin we stayed in was a bit small and dated but it had a nice fireplace and balcony with a lakeview which was fantastic. There are no tvs or fridges in the cabins. There is no service either but it helps that there is wifi, although it might get spotty in some areas, the strongest signal is at the lodge.
We ate at Mount Burgess, the service and the food were great, although pricey.
If you're looking to disconnect and just relax then this is a perfect place to do that. There are alot of areas for skiing and walking.
Food was great, portions were on the small side. Coffee was ok, but they dropped the organic coffee a while back. To bad it was good. Breakfast is a buffet, ok but Eggs were cold today! Staff changes every 8 months, but Chef has been there for decades so food is great, just small portions. We have stayed there 15 times in the past 12 yrs. Winters are the best not so crowded.
Stayed at Emerald Lake Lodge for Christmas holiday hoping to experience a magical, snowy holidays and this place did not disappoint. It is a beautiful property and staff are very hard working making sure the areas are safe to walk on. Our room was cozy and comfy with a fireplace. They provided the firewood and starters too. The restaurant serves very good food, service was exceptional but reservation is highly recommended. Our family had so much fun staying at this place. The guest parking is far from the resort but the waiting room is warm and the shuttles are quick. Overall, we had a magical stay at Emerald Lake Lodge.
This was the most amazing vacation I’ve been on and I’ve been on a lot! The views are so serene and picturesque

While the property itself especially this January 2025 was a winter wonderland and beautiful thanks to so much fresh snow……. We found the staff to be a little difficult/insincere …. Would offer help…. But, no follow through. The shuttle service and woman driving was absolutely great. The view from our room was stunning….. but, the neighbours were extremely loud to the point that we got maybe 2 hours of sleep and we were trying to catch up on quality rest in the mountains and celebrate our anniversary and a birthday. Disappointing and I’m sure has the potential to be better under different circumstances.
Wonderful stay in a wonderful setting with great staff. Food was worth having, cheese plate for supper and a great buffet breakfast.
Loved having the fire on in our bedroom.
Absolutely epic! The most peaceful and charming spot in the Rockies, this historic lodge is the best place to stay for those looking to get away from it all. We did a cross country ski (rentals available) and found ourselves in a winter wonderland - listening to the snow fall. Lovely fireplace in the rooms. Excellent service and quality food in the restaurant. The main room in lodge is super cozy and perfect for a drink and family board games. Highly recommended.
We arrive later in the evening. Amazing to wake up and walk outside to the snow covered trees and mountains here. We had a later breakfast and hot tub time than expected because of their start/opening times but that ended up helping us have a nice slow morning here. We did take a little hike to Hamilton Falls as well, which had a lovely frozen design.
Absolutely magical atmosphere. Decorated so beautifully for the holiday season. Staff are friendly and beyond helpful. Already looking forward to staying again.
