Nature lovers -- welcome! Grafton NH is a refreshingly 'off-the-beaten-path' area in the western NH countryside (just south of the White Mountains) where you'll be able to experience the *real New Hampshire* without traffic or tourists. Nestled in the foothills of Cardigan & Ragged Mountains; there are endless outdoor activities nearby. Within 15 mins you can check out quite a few quaint things to do, and within a 30 min drive you'll find more restaurants, hiking, skiing, and fun day trips (detailed list of recommendations can be found at the bottom of this description to help with trip planning).
A mile down our dirt road, past the neighborhood pond, tucked back down our long driveway... you'll arrive at our little cabin nestled on 1.3 wooded acres; offering ultimate peace & privacy.
For those looking for a restful retreat, quiet evenings around a fire, yard space & woods to play or lounge, and a hidden pond/beach for swimming/paddling/picnics -- you've discovered it!
Enjoy peace & privacy; the cabin is set back from the road and surrounded by yard space & tall trees... and we even have cared-for perennial gardens, so you can enjoy seasonal blooms, and watch the bumblebees & butterflies busy at work. You can barely see neighboring homes at a distance when the leaves have fallen; from May-Oct you'll be completely enveloped by the surrounding woodland trees & shrubs.
The WildeWoods Cabin is a sunny open-concept cabin with cathedral knotty pine ceilings & exposed beams; renovated with comfortable furnishings, modern amenities, vintage décor & a gas fireplace (on/off switch!).
We are also proudly pet-friendly (please include your pets in your booking request)!
ENTRY:
You'll enter through the side door into an entryway with coat hooks, a place for your shoes, and a basket for your dog's leashes, hats & mittens, etc.
BATHROOM:
Off to the left is the bathroom; which includes a full-sized shower/tub with new fixtures, on-demand hot water, and great water pressure.
KITCHEN & DINING:
The roomy kitchen has plenty of empty cabinets for your groceries & lots of counter space for cooking -- and is fully outfitted with newer appliances, dishes, glassware, silverware, pots & pans, cooking utensils, & kitchen gadgets ranging from a cocktail shaker to a lemon squeezer to a cheese grater.
We have a regular 12-cup coffee maker, a pourover coffee maker, and a Krups coffee grinder.
And YES we have a dishwasher!
Dining options include 2 counter seats at the kitchen island, and a dining table that seats 4.
LIVING ROOM:
The living room has a couch & smart TV facing one corner, and 2 arm chairs facing the fireplace in the other. We have plenty of throw pillows & blankets to cozy up with. The large bay window overlooks the side yard -- dogs LOVE this spot!
The comfy Lazy-Boy couch unfolds to a queen-size bed.
LOFT BEDROOM:
The bedroom is furnished with a 14" thick queen mattress, 2 nightstands, built-in dresser drawers, a small closet, and a ceiling fan.
The large window overlooks the woods behind the cabin -- curtains offer privacy, however guests should expect plenty of natural light in the room.
There is also a cozy workspace up here.
EXTERIOR:
Outside you'll be surrounded by tall trees, perennial gardens, & nature on 1+ acres of woodland. There's plenty of lawn space for lay out, play games, or romp with the pup.
Seasonally, guests will enjoy a propane BBQ grill, outdoor lounge chairs, a hammock, & a fire pit.
The driveway is long and has a pull-off spot large enough to fit a trailer, if you'd like to bring your boat, snowmobiles, etc...
Our shed houses outdoor furniture, a bocce ball set, a picnic blanket, & a cooler for your day trips.
