The Thurderbird Lodge is a dated hotel. It was a small room, a small bathroom, and had a very limited view of the canyon. They called it a partial view, and that is no joke. The first floor jutted out where our room was, and that hindered the view from our window probably more than other rooms. What made things worse is that our room was near the utility room for the entire hotel and it was very noisy the whole time! The toilet in our room ran and made noise, but the utility room sounds washed out the toilet noise. Luckily, we were pretty tired and were able to mostly ignore it. We stayed on the 2nd floor. Be warned that there is no elevator. I don't know why I thought there would be one, but I did. If I had known, I would have gotten a 1st floor room to avoid hauling all of our luggage upstairs. The thing this hotel has going for it is that it is in the middle of Grand Canyon Village and you are staying in the park. Beyond that, it is overpriced for what you get and needs updating badly.
