Host communication was lacking from the beginning as we had still not received a message from them by the day before check in. I messaged the host at 11pm the night before asking for check in instructions, to which the host finally messaged with a lockbox code. The driveway is difficult to find and the host did not provide a description to locate it easily.
The driveway is narrow, steep and pitted and it was difficult to back out of the narrow parking spot as the only light on the house was motion activated. The unit had not been cleaned well. The furnishings appeared to be cast-off garage sale finds. The window blinds are beat-up and dusty, the couch is stained and uncomfortable and the only place to eat is a tiny island with uncomfortable cheap bar stools. As we were disgusted by the lack of cleanliness and accessibility for my medical equipment, and concerned about making several trips up and down the driveway in the dark, we left and messaged the host about the issues. They seemed to think it was our fault that we didn't verify that the unit would meet our needs (like cleaning and a grounded electrical outlet??)
They replied that they had many other positive reviews and seemed unconcerned with our poor experience.
