Hunsucker's is a revitalized cottage located on a busy road within walking distance of Downtown Greensboro and Cone Hospital. This 1942 home has been updated as a place of rest for working and thinking people who enjoy music, musicians, and the energy of these people and places. This home is where Eric shares his love of music and his three sons. There is a Smart TV in the walk-up attic den and plenty of room for conversations and eating on the main floor as well as a piano for anyone to play.
This space was designed to be relaxed in and enjoyed. This home is located on a very busy road within a five-minute drive of Cone Hospital so ambulance and fire trucks are regularly passing. There is a piano in the dining room that guests are welcome to play. There is a tree swing in the front yard. We love seeing people swing and enjoy a swing out there ourselves. This home is where Eric shares his love of music and his three sons Logan, Larson, and Landon. Each of the rooms contains memorabilia for one of Eric's three adult sons Logan, Larson and Landon. There is a Smart TV in the walk-up attic. We also share our love of a low TV lifestyle and our ear for live music of almost any kind. Eric is a pianist and plays some Thursdays at our home two doors up. There is a tiny house behind this home listed as the Urban Birdhouse. There is also a listing for both this main house and the tiny house together called The Whole Hunsuckers. The home next door is The Library of Ivy and Ellie and the home on the other side is Idlewood House. The Library of Ivy and Ellie next door has the memorabilia from Joy's two Daughters. The upstairs at Joy and Eric's house on the corner has two rooms named after their moms Dottie and Uschie and have memorabilia from these two kick-ass ladies shared there.
The main floor and walk-up attic are accessible. The Garage and basement are not for guest use. The basement is creepy and has non-standard stairs. We don't lock the door to the basement door but trust you will respect our request to avoid going down there unless you're filming for some horror movie. The main floor has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a dining room, a living room, and an entry with a coat closet. The coat closet has a rolling laundry cart with detergents and a few cleaning supplies. There is a mop and broom inside the door to the basement located in the kitchen. There is a shelf with extra trash bags. Thank you for being a respectful guest.
We live two doors up in the brick house on the corner of Grayland and Wendover. If you are having an issue with the front door lock, please pull the door closed more firmly while entering the code we shared in the check in instructions. If it is outside of our check in time, and you did not communicate a need for a late check in, please know that we want to help you but may be asleep because we did not know when you would be checking in.
Idlewood Neighborhood is located between Westerwood, Fisher Park, Latham Park, and Old Irving Park and consists of homes built mostly in the '30-the '50s. This home is on a large busy road within a five-minute drive of Cone Hospital. Ambulance and Fire trucks drive by this house. There are several saltbox red brick apartment buildings along Hill Street that are undergoing rehab. Mature trees shade mostly cottage-style homes within walking distance of Downtown Greensboro and Cone Hospital. The urban trail intersects Hill St near an extensive public skateboard park and tennis courts.
Parking is primarily in the front but there is additional room in the back if needed. There is a tiny house located behind the house. You can walk to downtown and numerous places for eating and entertainment are within walking distance. The urban trail is accessible from down the road beside the skateboard park. Uber and Lyft are available, blue duck or similar scooter rentals are in Greensboro. There is a public transportation city bus as well as Greyhound and Amtrack station close.
