This was an excellent trip. First, I would like to mention that our housekeeper, Carmella, would leave us nice little notes every day, and would grant our request for extra needs in our room. The room was always clean, and we had no problems. Every day, when we would get back to our room, it looked like the first day we arrived. That was much appreciated. There were 2 very special people in Guest Services - Tara and Gaielle - who were very nice, courteous and helpful during our stay. The Nexus excursion staff were great as well. I also received a massage at the spa from Kenya, and she was really good. I left there feeling refreshed and re-energized. We went on an 8-hour excursion along the western coastline, and made stops at the waterfall, the sulfur mud baths, lunch, and then, snorkeling. My daughter and some of the members of our family also did the jet ski excursion. They really enjoyed themselves. The food was decent but was really good at the buffet on New Years Eve, where they served lobster, crab, oxtails, seafood, and plenty of desserts. Also, a shout out to Clint Westwood - our chef at Zen restaurant. Not only was he very entertaining and included the whole family (17 of us) in his "show," but the food he prepared was the best on the resort. Lastly, I would like to say that the New Years Eve celebration was really nice! It was the perfect way to bring in the new year. We have considered making this a yearly trip.

To say our stay was a disappointment doesn't even begin to equate. Check in: cold and unwelcoming, no welcome drinks, welcome pack, or any information on the resort not even info on breakfast or how to get to rooms. Booked in Nov 2023 yet rooms we paid for were unavailable so had to change rooms during stay. Bell boy was busy, when we went to take our own luggage to our room the downstairs escalator, elevator & apartment block elevator were all out of order requiring us to carry bags up 3 flights. Hotel maintenance: issue for whole trip with lifts, escalators, toilets not working. Toilets in bars were not cleaned during evening. Dirty toilet paper overflowing in bins / on floor, dirty glasses & no toilet paper. Check in team advised to speak with the Expedia rep, Beverly about issues who was not available but would contact us, this never happened. Service: frustratingly slow, taking 20-30 minutes to get served, no glasses. More photographers available than bartenders. One bar tender was beyond rude & took dirty cups out of the used cup bag, didn’t clean and served water in them dirty. 15 minutes to get simple things like cutlery. Staff: unaccommodating, inattentive and discourteous. Managers didn’t care or want to help. Royalton app requests daily review stay, don’t bother. Each day we were advised that a team member would follow up and this never happened. There were a handful of people who were helpful, welcoming and attentive, but unfortunately very few.

Room’s AC did not work. Room smelled like mildew upon arrival and was freezing cold a few hours later. The only way to make it warmer was to turn the AC completely off which made the room so humid that the floor, furniture surfaces and sheets were damp with condensation. The technician tried to fix the problem but couldn’t and it took 2 days of complaining to finally get a room change.

I had the most amazing time at this resort with my daughters. Outstanding remarkable staff, the food was great can’t wait to visit again. The lifeguard Dallas was super nice and housekeeping was excellent.

The resort is beautiful! The food is decent but the service at the buffet and every bar on site is very poor and slow. The beach is amazing but very hard to enjoy with multiple people coming up to try and sell you excursions etc.

My husband and I visited for our wedding anniversary and had a great time. Very nice staff, everyone was super helpful and accommodating. The space and resort was kept well and overall a very clean space. For sure more relaxing than party vibe. If you’re looking for a ton of events and energy this won’t be the place for you.

Be aware of reservation deadlines and party noise
Arrived to the hotel late and was informed that we had to pay an additonal fee for extra person (we always thought the reservation was for 2) or loose the value of the stay. So in spite of only staying there overnight (15 hours to be exact), we had no choice but to pay. We were then told that we could not dine in any of the restaurants (part of the allure off this all-inclusive resort is the many restaurant options) because we had no reservations (reservations are due by 2 PM, yet check-in is 3 PM....) We were unable to fall asleep due noise from a large party taking place in one of the resort venues and music playing until way past midnight. It was a costly and overall disappointing experience.

Elevator was out the whole time of our stay. Had to use the staff elevator which was in poor condition. Then even the staff elevator was out. Manager was not accommodating - claimed he did not know. We were on the 5th floor (highest floor) so had to go down 10 flights of stairs - and the lights were out in the staircases. Had to use phone flashlights. We were in the Diamond Club which we paid more for exclusivity and highest accommodations. My mom was a bad foot so she was bound to the room most days.

Our butlers Sarcha and Lance were amazing and really made our trip enjoyable. They went above and beyond for us and it was truly sad to say goodbye to them after our week in paradise. They are amazing and we were so grateful for them.
