This place was great for our family vacation. Plenty of space for all of us, and it had perfect beach access. It is somewhat of a drive to eat at good restaurants in Gulf Shores, but I like being secluded. The beach areas were not crowded at all, and we loved that part. We were able to set up a large canopy on the beach and leave it and our chairs there all week without issue (probably not recommended by most, but we weren't worried - this is a really nice area).
My only complaint is the cleanliness of the unit and also the repairs which are needed. The ceiling fans in the living room area were caked with dust. Light fixtures also needed repair in the same room (missing bulbs, bulb covers, or both). The smoke detectors would not stop beeping even after replacing the batteries. One went off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. There were no shelves in the door of the refrigerator, so it made space an issue. The upstairs master suite had a fan, but it was very noisy. We ended up not using it most of the trip. All sliding glass doors were difficult to open - I assume this is due to the weather just wearing the tracks out and also sand and such getting into them. A lot of the window screens need replacing. The deck boards on the uncovered balconies are in need of serious repair. They are all dry and brittle with opportunities for splinters. The curtains in the unit could also use a good wash.
All that said, we would rent this place again. None of these opportunities were enough to keep us from booking another trip here in the future. We had a great time.
