Enjoy a true mountain cabin lifestyle and getaway, within walking distance to Mirror Lake and Lake Sequoia and minutes to downtown Highlands. This perfect mountain cabin offers an upscale fully appointed kitchen, sure to delight gourmet chefs, cocktail experts, and appetites. Your kitchen opens to a lovely dining room, which leads to the soaring two story great room, with tongue and groove ceilings and a rustic stone fireplace for those cool Highlands nights. From the great room, step out onto the newly expanded deck with enough room for grilling and dining, as well as a cozy conversation area with a gas fire pit for relaxing with coffee, or a cocktail! A spacious master bedroom with a king size bed, and a fully stocked modern ensuite bathroom, leads to another walkout to the deck. A beautiful second bedroom with a queen size bed and its own nearby full bath, insure the comfort of the main level. The second level adds a large bonus room, queen bed and full bath. Enjoy the 70 inch smart TV which offers over 85 channels on YouTube TV, sports packages, Disney+, and movies galore! This loft is open to the great room and is perfect for an additional living area, sleeping area, and with room left over for an in-home office. Your perfect mountain getaway is located in the desirable Mirror Lake R2 district, within city limits, and only a few short minutes to bustling Main Street in Highlands. Enjoy strolling and eating your way through this quaint neighborhood or grab your fishing pole or canoe and enjoy the serenity of two nearby lakes and the many waterfalls of the Plateau.

Note beginning in 2022 our excellent Housekeeper will only be working weekdays, so if you instant book make sure to check in on a weekday (Monday through Friday) or have at least one open weekday prior to your check in date (for example, if you check in on Saturday we need to have prior guests check out on Friday so we can thoroughly clean and prep for your stay). Feel free to send us a note to confirm.

Your Privacy and Protection is Important to us! Free Wi-Fi is encrypted and requires a passcode (found in our Cabin Information Book). We do not distribute or sell ANY of your personal information. We have Fire Extinguishers, Fire Alarms on each floor, CO2 Detector, Water Detector, Home Security System with only one external camera on the Parking Area, and the Door Entry Lock pin changes immediately with each guest. Our Professional Housekeeper is a stickler for sanitation!

Perfect mountain stay…
Our cabin stay was a perfect mountain interlude. It is a beautiful property and perfectly appointed with everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable, and my compliments to the housekeeper for the pristine condition of everything. We relaxed in front of the fireplace on rainy days and enjoyed the forest view and beyond from the comfortable deck chairs when the weather cleared. It’s a quick trip to town and near many beautiful waterfalls and scenic overlooks. I would definitely stay here again!

Location! Location! Location!
Red Top Treehouse Cabin had everything we needed plus a great location! The tree top views from the back deck were a great way to start and end each day. We really felt like we were in the mountains but could get to downtown in minutes. Our group saw one bear (thankfully from inside our car) and several deer. We loved walking the sweet mountain roads in this neighborhood. The roads are steep and narrow so bring a car suited for this type of driving - we thought is added to the adventure! The hosts were very easy to communicate with and pompt to respond.

Delightful mountain getaway
My friend and I enjoyed every minute of our stay at the cabin. It was beautifully decorated and equipped with anything you could want! The beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and just relaxing after hiking a few places and shopping of course.We saw no bears while there!

Birthday celebration
This little mountain house was perfect for us to celebrate my birthday. Joann left me a bottle of champagne to help with the festivities!! How sweet. The kitchen is stocked full of anything and everything you could need to cook. The deck amazed with a perfect view of sunset and a fire pit. Not far from downtown Highlands, which had great shopping and wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed 4 days of hiking, rest and celebration. Thank you to Joann and Mike.

Honeymoon Stay
Perfect getaway for our honeymoon. The cabin was extremely clean and very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked and the bathrooms had plenty of towels and toiletries. Loved that it was so close to the town of Highlands. The owners made check-in very easy and gave us their phone numbers in case we needed to contact them, which we did not. We would definitely recommend this great cabin.

Fabulous cottage
Everything literally from soup to nuts was provided by the hosts. We wanted quiet and relaxing which is exactly what we got. Cabin is professionally decorated, spacious, extremely clean and comfortable. The only drawback for us was accessing the location which proved stressful since it is physically too difficult for us to back up if necessary on a narrow, steep, winding one lane road. Other than than the roads, we would not hesitate to book again. By far, the best Vrbo we ever stayed in.

Very relaxing and comfortable
Our month long stay in this home was perfect. The house is well furnished and completely stocked with everything you would need. We especially enjoyed the deck and some evenings we used the outdoor fire - We rarely used the upstairs tv area as we were too busy walking and playing pickle ball and reading - a totally relaxing stay getting out of the heat at home. Owners were available if there were questions- I would highly recommend renting this property.

Comfortable, quiet, secluded with all we needed
We enjoyed the cool weather while sitting on the beautiful deck in the tree house. The kitchen was well stocked as mentioned and we left a few items as others did for us, oil, milk, butter, etc. it is very close to On the Veranda restaurant so we loved our meal there. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your comfortable Vrbo. The light switch on right of M bedroom needs a new switch and we appreciated the washer and dryer for a quick wash of clothes. It rained a couple of times briefly and that kept things cool. Your attention to detailed info in binder was excellent!! Thank you again!

mountain getaway
this was a super cute cabin, and yes its in a windy road neighborhood, which is a small one way road. So you might have to back up to let someone else go by, if you have a really big car could be an issue if trying to park also. The cabin was like in the trees which I love, however the lighting in the cabin is not sufficient for the darkness of all the trees. But if you normally like low lighting, it would be fine. There was a very small TV on the main floor, too small and we had to go upstairs to watch the bigger TV, and my focus was to be on one level, stairs are a little sketchy/steep no handrail.
