Refrigerator froze everything. Water in the hot tub was brown and jets were not very powerful. Some of the lighting in the suite needs to be updated, the ceiling lights flickered and took a long time to come on. Being a suite with a kitchenette, it would be nice to have some dishes, cutlery, sponge, dish soap, paper towels, etc. But after all said, the suite was roomy, clean, nice counter space and bathroom, and met our needs. The price was reasonable, the breakfast buffet was great, and the kids loved the indoor pool.

One of our bucket list stays

It was excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was comfy and clean and large. Abundance of towels. Breakfast was deluxe, almost anything you wanted. Gift shop was great, reasonably priced. Very convenient to everything. Highly recommend!

Cheked in really late at night. couldn't get hotel.com to work on my phone. the man at the front desk did it for me on his computer, so i could use my gift card. The staff here is so nice!

Have stayed here 3 of the 5 years I’ve gone for Sturgis Bike Week. It is a great hotel all around except for the landscaping. For whatever reason the new owner or owners are letting weeds and the grass grow wild. Again still a great hotel not sure why they are letting the grounds go.

Great place to stay in Hill City. Clean, comfortable room. Easy walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Great location for getting to all Black Hills attractions. Nice staff.

Nice with just two call outs

I had two rooms for two nights. The only two opportunities. Gym equipment is dirty and there is no ventilation. The staff isn’t friendly. They don’t greet you or say hello when they pass you Rooms were comfortable and clean. Great location and breakfast spread.

The hotel was great looked clean but as we had the room next to the swimming pool it was loud from 7 am, worst of all there were bed bags! Unfortunately I have about 20 bites on my whole body

BW Hill City

The BW Golden Spike was a good hotel. It is old, and maybe doesn't clean up as well as a new one would, but it was good anyway. Hill City is a great place to stay; lots to do and we enjoyed the bikers from Sturgis.

Great Hotel - Custer, Rushmore, & Crazy Horse

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay at the Best Western in Hill City. We stayed there on our way east to Custer State Park. The proximity to Custer State Park was great. Our kids loved the breakfast and we (as parents) enjoyed the spacious two queen room with sofa bed. We also really liked how there were two sinks -- one inside the bathroom, and one outside of it. The sink area outside of the bathroom was very spacious. The pools looked awesome but we did not use them due to timing. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in a deluxe room with kitchen and pull out bed. Room was spacious and comfortable. The toilet had issues and super low pressure. We unfortunately happened to be in town during Sturgis bike week… not the crowd we wanted to be around during our family vacation. This made the town seem a bit unsafe and we weren’t comfortable walking or exploring at all. Not the hotels fault. Nice pool.
