Welcome to the Sea Cow Shack! This ole’ shack has been completely updated and refurnished to submerge you in the old Florida feel. The block home is a spacious three bedroom, two bathroom cottage with an additional screened in back patio to serve as a bonus outdoor living room. The golf cart is available to be use only for driving down to the riverside side restaurants such as McRae's, Monkey Bar, The Fridge, Freezer, etc.

Located in Old Historic Homosassa we are a 5-minute walk to the river hosting all the charming restaurants, monkey island, and McRae's marina. The old mill tavern is literally within earshot and the sugar mill ruins right beside make a nice morning or evening stroll. The Ellie Schiller state park is just down the road about a half mile.
Guests will need a vehicle for travel to neighboring towns.
The golf cart is not street legal and will require that reserving guests sign a liability waiver for use. It can only be driven down to the river on our side.

Cancellation/refund policy:
Cancelations for a refund will be allowed up until 35 days prior to arrival. A cancelation fee of 10% of the total reservation cost or a $250 fee, whichever is higher, will be withheld from any refund of advance rent deposit. Refunds of the advance rent deposit and/or the total rental fee will not be given for any reason within 35 days of arrival date. No exceptions. The GCG’s 10% cancelation fee is charged for online bookings made on these third-party sites regardless of the refund time period listed on the third-party platform.
Pet Policy:
One Dog is allowed up to 40 lbs. Dog Rules include: Keeping off beds and furniture, crated when left alone in the home, is supervised outside, and picked up after in the yard and/or neighborhood. Tenant pays the listing specified non-refundable pet fee per pet at least 30 days prior to check in if not paid at booking. If Tenant violates these rules, Tenant will be asked to vacate, and will comply without incident, without any refund of rents, deposits or fees, and will be responsible for any additional charges for damages incurred.
Booking/House Rules:
- Tenant must be 25 to rent Premises (any variance of this requirement must be disclosed and approved in writing by GCG at booking or signing of the contract) and must remain at home during the entire rental period. Codes will not be release to anyone but the reserving Tenant.
- There must be 1 Adult over the age of 25 for every 2 individuals under the age of 25 during the rental period. (any variance must be disclosed prior to booking and approved in writing by GCG)
- Tenant will not allow guests in excess of the listed maximum occupancy of Premises during rental period. Parties and/or events are not allowed during rental period. Commercial photography or Videography are also not allowed without prior written consent by GCG.
- There is no vaping or smoking allowed in the home, on porches, or balconies. Please seek the designated smoking area (if applicable). If Tenant violates this rule a fine of $500 will be charged to the credit card on file or a claim will be submitted if booked with a third-party online travel agency.
Sight Unseen:
The Premises are individually owned. Furnishings and décor are subject to change at the owner’s discretion. These changes generally do not change the maximum occupancy of a home but in rare occasions may. Similar, new construction and extensive remodels, repairs and special assessments for hoa/POa governed buildings happen frequently and sometimes suddenly. GCG is not responsible for any onsite amenity or building closures and/or Construction inconveniences. GCG will not refund any rents, deposits or fees, nor cancel any rental periods, nor change any rental assignments, regarding aforementioned.
Limitation on Liability:
Neither Gulf Coast Getaways nor property owner assumes any liability for loss, damage, claim or injury to persons or their personal property while on the Premises, nor for any inconvenience, damage, claim, loss or injury arising from or related to any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of utilities; changes to rental assignments; errors in GCGs’ website or marketing; weather conditions; natural disasters; acts of God; or other reasons beyond their control.
Must be 25 to book and be present during the stay.
Use of a golf cart requires a signed liability waiver. It is only for use from the house to the restaurants on our side of the river.
Dog- must be well-trained and kept off the furniture. Take care with the screens on the porch. Please keep off the furniture. Guests will be held responsible for any damages. A pet fee of 75.00 is due after booking when bringing a pet.
