About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Olympic A-Frame - Close to Olympic NP, lake access

Nestled in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains, Olympic A-Frame is everything you want in a cabin: calm and cozy, classic yet contemporary, rustic but refined. With 850 square feet, you'll find both intimacy and space to connect. Includes upgraded appliances, linen sheets you can melt into, and almost an acre of outdoor space - you won’t want to leave! Five minute walk to Lake Kokanee, 10 minute drive to Lake Cushman and Hoodsport and 20 minutes to Olympic National Park’s Staircase entrance!

The Space:
A place to settle in and gather with family and friends, the main living space offers a free-standing midcentury fireplace and complimentary wood, table for board games and puzzles, interest books, bluetooth/record player combo with classic vinyl, and an extra cozy Poly & Bark sofa sleeper for two.

The kitchen is well stocked for cooking at home and includes all new appliances, dinner and drink ware for six, plus options for ALL the coffee (drip, press, pour over, regular and burr grinders). Complimentary herbal tea, hot cocoa and Cafe Vita coffee are provided.

An updated bathroom includes vintage Singer sewing machine vanity and complimentary bath and body products from Public Goods, soothing rain shower head, and both quick-drying Turkish and buttery soft waffle towels to dry off after your shower or a relaxing dip in the hot tub.

In addition to the sofa sleeper, there are two dedicated bedroom areas. Downstairs is a bedroom with a queen size bed and twin trundle allowing for flexible sleeping arrangements. Enjoy the topography wallpaper reminiscent of the changing elevation of the Olympic Mountain range.

Upstairs is an iconic and spacious a-frame ceiling sleeping loft where you’ll find the primary bedroom space. A flex closet space provides ample storage for clothing and full size washer and dryer combo. Additional sitting area with tv is the perfect place to cozy up with a good book or movie. Both bedrooms offer super soft (and perfectly wrinkly:) linen sheets and Pendleton wool blankets, as well as jviews overlooking a forested community green belt.

Out on the front deck you’ll find a six-person hot tub ready to go. Dining table for six and BBQ with tools and counter space for summer and shoulder season grilling adds to the vibe.

A fenced side yard for little ones and pooches alike also includes an all-weather extra stretchy hammock for hanging under the trees. Kick back and watch native Trillium flowers pop up from the rolling moss in early spring.

Out in the extended yard is a solo stove fire pit and durable Polywood adirondack chairs for s‘mores and after-dark hang outs. Recreational shed with kayaks, picnic gear, yard games, scooters, bicycles, snow play and more all available for use during your stay. Helmets and life jackets for both adults and children provided. This property is everything you want in a low key cabin surrounded by a truly exceptional regional outdoor playground. Message us for any details not included!

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire cabin and one of two sheds on the property, which houses various recreational equipment. Cabin has self check-in via keypad entry and each reservation will be generated a unique code the morning of check-in. Shed has regular keyed entry (keys located inside cabin).

The Neighborhood:
Olympic A-Frame is part of the Lake Cushman Community with access to several private parks, beaches and and golf courses. Our cabin rental includes access to a private recreational shed with kayaks, SUP boards and picnic supplies for day tripping to either Lake Kokanee or Lake Cushman. We also have yard games in you prefer to stay close to home! Snow plowing in winter helps keep our cabin accessible year round.

Just down the road is Hoodsport, beautifully situated on Hood Canal, which provides a quaint outpost for coffee, ice cream, groceries, a winery, a distillery and several eateries. Shellfish can be harvested at several public beaches or found at local shellfish farms, such as Hama Hama in Lillawaup.

Heading further up Lake Cushman Road you’ll find the Staircase entrance to Olympic National Park, which offers a variety of scenic hikes for different abilities. Please note much of the Staircase area is not accessible in winter. See park website for details.

Getting Around:
Short walk to Lake Kokanee. Car needed for other excursions.

Other Things to Note:
Pets allowed upon request, $50 cleaning fee.

The Lake Cushman area has very limited cell phone reception so we recommend guests enable wi-fi calling during your stay. Plan to access mobile directions to the cabin before leaving Hoodsport/Highway 101. Cabin also has a land line that guests can use.

Interaction with Guests:
Our family lives in NW Seattle and we have lots of experience exploring the region, including years of camping in and renting out our '85 VW Westfalia camper van on the peninsula and beyond. Gorgeous home!
This is by far the most gorgeous VRBO we've ever stayed in. Jessica has a fine eye for detail and pizazz, and it shows. The theme and decor were on point, at every turn you might notice something new. Jessica was also friendly and easy to communicate with. We will book again!

Perfect little getaway spot.
We just got back from a week long trip driving through PNW. Stayed at a few places. This one by far was the best. The attention to detail was amazing. They thought of everything as far as I could tell. Quiet little forest place to unplug and really relax. Likely to rebook as soon as I can find a reason to do so.
