Full House - Lobster Trap
The Lobster Trap is a place you will never want to leave! Located on a private cliffside waterfront property in North Bay Ingonish, this home is optimized for a restful & relaxing getaway.
With exceptional ocean & mountain views, this modern home is ideal for guests looking to experience the highlands. Close to sandy beaches, hiking trails, the golf course and ski hill it is a perfect year-round location.
This was our home for three years and we are now excited to share it with you.
Whether you’re here to enjoy the sandy beaches, hike in the national park, golf the renowned Highland Links or spend your day at the ski hill, the Lobster Trap is the perfect place to call home base.
This two-bedroom, one-bath home provides plenty of space to hang out inside or out. It is equipped with a fully stocked kitchen, a full bath with tub, an electric fireplace and a washer and dryer for those times when adventuring gets messy.
The Bunkie, located at the edge of the property, is also rented out during the warmer months from May-Oct.
Each rental has its own dedicated space and amenities in order to maintain privacy for all guests. We ask that anyone staying in the main house respect the Bunkies' dedicated space at the edge of the property. There is plenty of yard for everyone and Lobster Trap guests are welcome to enjoy the cliffside lookout when Bunkie guests are not present.
Parking is clearly labelled, with two dedicated spaces for The Lobster Trap and one for the Bunkie. There is room for some additional parking if needed but please make sure you don't block anyone in ;)
*Quiet hours begin at 8pm and there are no parties permitted on the premises.
The driveway to the property is right off the Cabot Trail across the street from one of our favourite spots - Salty Rose's + Periwinkle Cafe.
As you roll down the driveway, you will get a glimpse of the view and our red home, called the Lobster Trap. There is a cart on the porch to help unload the car, but please make sure it's put back where you found it.
From time to time, you may see other guests walking through the yard to get access to the Bunkie. This is their dedicated along the right side of the property.
Along with Salty Rose's + Periwinkle Cafe, The Goat Soap shop and farm are also just next door.
Located in the heart of a National Park, there is something to do and see in every direction.
Within 10 minutes of the property you will find
- Golfing at the renowned Highland Links
- Hiking in ALL directions
- Beaches in ALL directions
- Cape Smokey Ski hill and gondola
- The Keltic Lodge
- Great local restaurants (Periwinkle Cafe, The Seagull, Coastal, Brookside, etc.)
- Local Grocery Store
- Nova Scotia Liquor Store
- and so much more
We are happy to provide you with as many recommendations as you would like throughout your stay.
*Please note that this property does not have beach access.
We live just a few minutes away and can be at the property if you need anything at all during your stay.
You may get an occasional wave or hello from the guests staying in the Bunkie as they walk to their car, but interacting with others is up to you ;)
A couple of additional things we like to share with guests are.
Our property is cliffside and caution is required when exploring the edge of the property.
We also neighbour an old cemetery that shares our driveway. Our property is landscaped to hide the cemetery and focus the view on the ocean, the Keltic Lodge and the ski hill in the distance.
On the other side of our property is another adult-only resort, the Seascape Coastal Retreat. The guests at Seascape are typically very quiet and we ask that our guests maintain the serenity of the area by keeping music to minimum when enjoying the patio.
Quiet hours begin at 8pm and there are no parties permitted on the premises.
No parties are to be hosted on the property.
No smoking of any kind in the house and dispose of any waste safely and appropriately.
