The Black Coral, Upscale Living on Utila

The perfect place to relax with another couple or with a small family, Black Coral sits on the waterfront in Utila's TradeWind neighborhood where you are away from the hustle and bustle of Main Street, but easily close enough to enjoy the restaurants and our nightlife. This updated two bedroom apartment has both bedrooms flanking the center kitchen, so privacy is just a closed door away. The upscale bath and fully found kitchen means you can settle into comfort after your days activities!
The space
The Black Coral apartment is a completely unit from the main house with it's own private keyed entry. An upscale 2 bedroom with upgraded linens, A/C, full kitchen with dinette, and stylish bathing facilities including an oversized shower fronted by glass block to alleviate that cramped feeling. A covered patio is a perfect place to sit and watch the Caribbean roll against the shore...

Guest access
Passing through the main entry you'll see your own private, keyed entry to your apartment. There are no shared spaces here; you have your very own home away from home for your holiday on Utila.

Other things to note
Many of our guests prefer to acquire transportation during their visit, and The Black Coral provides ample free parking in your own designated space.

A little gem on Utila

We had the best stay at Tony and Jo’s Black Coral beach house over the holidays. They were easy to contact and quick to respond both before and during our trip. They stocked our kitchen before arrival with a list of items we selected, they had local currency for us to purchase, and even met us at the ferry dock with a golf cart we rented to help transport our luggage and show us to the property! These super hosts are immensely kind and immediately felt like family. The property is lovely, on a beautiful cove with everything you need for a week’s stay. The appliances are new, the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, a toaster, blender and a water dispenser. The linens and towels are very nice and the bathroom had all of the necessities. Water pressure was fantastic and the water was perfectly hot! We had an issue with a toilet that was fixed immediately. If I could add anything to the property it would be a washer, a line to dry clothes and dive gear and a living room (this property has two beds, a bath and a large eat in kitchen only but a nice picnic table outside). Some outdoor chairs or a hammock would be amazing too! Not complaining though because we had a great time. When we left, both Tony and Jo even met us at the ferry dock to say goodbye, exchange hugs and share some coffee. When we return to Utila, we will definitely stay with them again!

Wonderful stay

My husband and I are originally from Utila and returned with our family for a large 3-day local church event. Joanne and her hubby were fantastic hosts. They provided everything we needed and were super responsive. And because they have been there so long, they really are like locals- and that is a huge compliment coming from us- as we are native islanders now transplanted in the USA. The property is fantastic. We had the "basement" unit but it was not subpar to anything. Super clean, super comfortable. Beautiful views, and of course listening to the sound of the waves crashing on the iron shore was just a dream. The only things that could have made our stay better was if there was access to a washing machine onsite and at least one chest of drawers for guests with children. Other than that, I 100% recommend this place to both visitors and Utilians alike. Loved it!!!
