Giving this place a generous 4 stars. Honest review now.
Plenty of room for our crew of 8 people. Kitchen was well-appointed (less commonly had a flat-top griddle, waffle-maker, insta-pot, and slow-cooker) as well as most spices, and even had coffee. There was a cooler supplied for day trips as well.
Many of the knives were not sharp. Beds were comfortable except the top bunk, but my 5 year old didn't complain. Couldn't figure out how to turn up the heat on the hot tub until the last day (LOL). I will mention that the road to the cabin is unpaved (because our friend's car rental was not supposed to drive on unpaved roads - oh well), but the driveway is, and could fit probably 4 cars or more. There is not enough room in the laundry room-bathroom. There were barely enough towels and washcloths for all of us. We had to wash laundry nearly every day and you cannot fully open the dryer door - this is my biggest peeve about the place. It hits the sink cabinet on the opposing wall. We could not find a spigot to top off the water on the hot tub or rinse things off outside. The living room is comfortable for resting in the evenings - really nice reclining sofas. The ping pong table was great for downtime. There is a small backyard area with a firepit which the boys enjoyed building fires. The front door keypad was a little finicky at times. Yellowstone was closed to flooding while we were there which was a huge bummer. We tried to make the most of it, and found other things to do in the area like rent ATVs (many trails all around), Grand Teton NP, Mesa Falls, Craters of the Moon, Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. Harriman State Park was gorgeous and would be a fantastic place for fly-fishing and they have horseback riding there. Would I stay here again? End of the day, I felt the place was overpriced. I could buy 4700 Hotwheels cars for my boys. The flooding happened within just a couple days of our stay so there was no getting our deposit back or our friends canceling their flights. Next time to Yellowstone we will probably take an RV for just my family. We drove all the way from NC to stay here.
