The hotel was lovely and very clean. The room was not big but comfortable. Also the terrace breakfast gave a beautiful view of nearby mosques and the water. Just gorgeous.

A Truly Special Place

I have stayed at the Alpek Hotel in the Eminönü part of Istanbul multiple times. What you get here is a clean, comfortable, but fairly small room in a spectacular location within steps of fantastic shopping, a zillion restaurants, ferries across the Bosporus and a kind of friendly relaxed charm that is hard to describe. If you need a huge room, go somewhere else, but otherwise, enjoy the excellent breakfast on the roof as you begin the day watching ferries come and go in the Golden horn, marvel at the Yeni Cami Mosque next door and watch the world go past on a parade of ships through the Bosporus. This is a truly special place. The major tourist attractions are mostly within walking distance, although the walk can involve a lot of uphill. If you don't want to walk, the tram is right there to take you to Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace, the Blue Mosque and the outstanding Archaeological museum. I've stayed in many hotels in Istanbul, Alpek Hotel is far and away my favorite. It is small with old world charm, but a functioning elevator and staff who are wonderful. Don't necessarily expect this every time, but if they can they will let you into your room early and simply have a way of making you feel welcome. I'll be staying there again.

If you want a great location, stay here

The location was amazing very close to tram and easy walking distance from the main sites. The rooftop terrace gave superb views across the waterfront and the city, which more than made up for the rather small rooms. Swinging a cat would have been quite difficult and when we arrived we'd been allocated a double room when we had booked a twin. Once this was eventually sorted we never did get proper bed linen on both beds but it wasn't a major issue. Air conditioning worked well, the shower room was clean with good shower. The towels were changed every day which wasn't necessary and the room was tidied and beds made. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace was good and plentiful and the waiters we're attentive and friendly. The bar was good for evening drinks and we ate there one night which was also good. For what we got with breakfast included, excellent value for money, our family who were staying nearby paid much more without breakfast......and our view was the best!!!!!

Cosy place. A hidden gem indeed. it is accessible to the tram, the shops and eateries. Clean,cosy room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Even the two ladies who cleaned our rooms were professional in their work. My niece even liked the one with black hair. Thank you to Murad the guy who serves I'd for breakfast. He was remembered what we liked and was a friendly, respectful and has an interesting sense of humour. Overall, we love the the property and the staff. Thank you for the pleasant and memorable stay!

Best value. Ideal location. Super helpful staff. Porter took luggage across the street and found us taxi for us in busy traffic. Even helped to negotiate with driver in local language for a good fare. We would have had a very difficult time to get a taxi on our own. Highly recommend this property for anyone for a short stay in Istanbul

Great Views & Location. Below Average Hotel

My experience was not bad because of the location and views from the rooftop and breakfast service. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. If not for all the above this hotel is below average. Extremely tiny rooms, old furniture and limited amenities. Most of the amenities provided were even broken or not functioning.
