Not quite worth the money
Most staff friendly, ok English. Most other guests Asian who didn't use the pool so we had it mostly to ourselves. Pools were nice, hotel area and buildings beautiful. Wonderful presence of nature with birds singing all the time and gekkos in the room. Breakfast outside next to water and fish, surrounded by sounds of the jungle is just lovely.
Spa not worth the money. Massage ok, but only a very old shower cabin in the corner of the room. It had no door, it was dirty and you could only get cold water.
The Chinese restaurant in the Pulai Pavilion also not worth the money. Rewarded several times? Why? Staff were rude, threw the food on our table and left without saying anything. At least 5 different waitresses brought us food and all except one acted like this. My deepfried prawns were raw and floury. My husband's dish was supposed to be szechuan, but it was sweet & sour and not good. Not once did anyone ask us if everything was ok.
Gym had very outdated equipment, but you can do most basic exercises. The gym had a carpet that really isn't something a modern gym would have.
Pulai Springs is good for you if you like to hang out by the pool and sleep well. Laundry service is expensive in relation to prices out on town. Different from all other Asian hotels I've been to, this one had oatmeal for breakfast :). But be careful, because most cups, plates and cutlery was dirty.
They change towels every day even when you ask them not to. "Malaysian way", but for us unecological.
