So this property is really lovely from the outside, we stayed in the 2nd floor of the adjacent building built in 1923. Cleanliness of the room was poor, carpet was dirty, bed looked as if someone didn't change the sheets. Staff was really pleasant, and the closeness to Mt. DORA downtown made up for this a bit. Its not worth what they want to charge you for a stay.

This property is right on the lake with a beautiful view of the evening sunsets. You literally walk out of the parking lot and you're in downtown Mount Dora. Great location for a two night getaway! (although in that timeframe you will not be able to eat at all of the wonderful restaurants available to you😊)

The property is absolutely beautiful!! Quaint, clean rooms. Staff was amazing!! Sunset boat cruise was perfect! Hotel is within walking distance to all the shops and restaurants!! The Christmas lights and decor was stunning!!

Beautiful inn right on the lake to watch the amazing sunsets. Charming. They have kept the old style feel to it. Only downside I experienced was the paper thin walls. I heard some things I wish I hadn’t walking down the hallway one day! Also, not enough outlets for this day and age, but that’s to be expected.

We stayed in the Sunrise Cottage. The bed was very firm and uncomfortable and there was an ice machine outside the room making a loud whirling sound all night long.

Historic property. Beautiful, quiet, lake front view. service was impeccable. Nice pool area and bar. Walkable town. Pet friendly hotel and pet friendly town. Shops were unique and the restaurants were great a variety of food options. English Pub, Cuban Restaurant, German Restaurant Italian Restaurant and American fare. Awesome little gem of a town!

In general the hotel is good, the location is excellent, the attention of the reception staff is very good however it needs to modernize the rooms a little for greater comfort with coffee makers and refrigerators maybe but in general very good option to visit.

Bit of an unusual review, I arrived on Monday for a few days of shopping and dining, only to be quickly taken down with complications from influenza, to the point where I eventually had to be taken to the emergency room and then admitted to the hospital. Christina, Carol, Julie, everybody stepped up to help me, got my room cleaned out and my belongings stored. They even called the hospital to check on me, to see if there's anything else I needed! I looked forward to coming over and staying a few days for the very purpose stated above, for many years. It's a beautiful, stately place where you really are transported back in time. After I was just charged, had to make my way back and pick up my belongings, and this staff is just the best. They helped me load my car and they wished me well. Unless something else happens, I will be spending at least a few days next Christmas, 2.0.

This is the oldest operating hotel in Florida, dating from 1833. Very quaint and charming. We stayed in the main inn and enjoyed our time. However, the carpet in the room was shabby and the bed was very uncomfortable. Just needs some updating. The restaurants are very good and we enjoyed our dinner and breakfast.
