First of all, the villa is beautifully decorated. And the location was great. It was very clean. But several issues marred our stay, and they were reported upon discovery to the property manager.
First of all, we were there for two nights, which really totals only 42 hours when one considers that check in is at 4 pm and checkout is at 10 am. A good deal of that time was spent dealing with maintenance issues. We couldn’t get into the villa on time because none of the keys provided would work in the lock, which needed cleaning/lubricating. So the first evening we spent almost an hour trying to get IN, and then get the door fixed for the rest of the short stay.
The living room television lost its cable connection and went on and off constantly, not huge, but frustrating to my husband who wanted to watch Monday Night Football, but it didn’t matter once he ascertained that the cable was not even subscribed to ESPN at all.
We were only allowed one beach fob for 3 adults, so we had to stay together or be available to each other all the time. I asked for another fob and was told we were only allowed one. This meant that if one of us went for a run on the beach, they needed the fob, and no one else could go down to the beach until they returned. There is a public beach access to one side of the property, but due to construction it is mostly rock and difficult to use, especially for one of our party with an injury.
One of the chairs for the porch/balcony area is broken and tips forward at a steep angle, again not huge
, but a safety issue.
The biggest problem by far was that in the ground floor, easily accessible villa, the sliding glass door to the porch would not latch. So we slept all night with an unlocked door, and no one slept well. It was reported the first evening, but knowing we would have to wait up for maintenance and lose more vacation time, we told them to just come the next day. It could not be fixed. It needed the entire latch replaced, which led maintenance to put in a tension rod as a temporary fix. If this issue is not fixed for anyone arriving after 8:/25/21, that is poor customer care and service. It’s a safety issue.
To conclude, I have stayed in properties managed by Vacasa before. Generally, it is a good experience. This one, though, was enough to make me hesitant the next time.
