NEW LISTING! Welcome to Paradise Cottage! You will fall in love with this newly renovated, modern, ground level beach retreat that boasts OBX charm! Enjoy discovering the pristine OBX from this centrally located cottage in the heart of KDH. You will be minutes from the beach, Nags Head Woods, Jockeys Ridge, award winning restaurants, specialty shops, surf stores, ice cream, parks, spectacular sunset spots, & other popular destinations. The cottage is a detached dwelling nestled in a welcoming neighborhood.
The space
Outside the cottage
Paradise Cottage is a charming cottage surrounded by magnificent pines, hugged by ivy, adorned with seasonal flowers, & flooded with dappled sunlight a mile from the beach. It is the perfect space to escape, unwind, explore, and enjoy island time. You will have access to a spacious & private fenced in yard. The outdoor space includes a picnic table for morning coffee or a romantic dinner, two hammocks for relaxing in after a day at the beach, chairs for chatting, a hose to rinse off your sandy toes, & soothing outdoor lighting. Free off street parking is directly in front of the could in the designated mulched area. A step stone path, on the left, will lead you through a tall gate to the main entrance to the cottage. The secondary entrance is on the right side. This side of the cottage is connected to *our home* with decking.
Inside the cottage
Paradise Cottage has been recently renovated for guests. It is clean, inviting, open, and airy studio cottage! The indoor space includes the following:
*A spacious family room with ample seating
*43-inch Roku TV with Netflix, Hulu, & other free channels
*Wi-Fi
*A dinning table or work space
*A plush king size bed
*A comfy queen sofa bed
*Dressers & space to hang clothes (pull out the white rectangle by the main entrance to hang clothes)
*A bathroom with shower, sink, toilet, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, & hand soap. There is no tub in the cottage. An inflatable bath tub can be provided for small children.
*A kitchenette* with a full-size sink, a Keurig machine, a toaster, a small refrigerator, a microwave, glasses, mugs, dishes, cutlery, basic cooking utensils, knives, dish soap, a scrubby, hand towels, a drying rack, & a fire extinguisher. The kitchenette does not include a ***STOVE***.The cottage does include a single burner with pots and pans.

The neighborhood is centrally located in the heart of KDH! Getting around town is extremely easy from this location. We are in a quiet neighborhood, but close to all the action. Route 158 is 0.6 miles away. Several locations may be reached by traveling through Nags Head Woods and the neighborhood.
Other things to note
Free off street parking is available directly in front of the cottage on the mulched area directly in front of the cottage.
It is a 15/20 easy walk to the beach.
It is an easy 7/15 minute bike ride to the beach.
It is an easy 5 minute drive to various free public beach parking.

It is a please to share our cottage with you & help you make the most of your time while on the OBX. We live right next door and will be available by text or through email. We are a busy family that will be coming and going during your stay. We will respect your privacy by all means. I do teach a preschool class some mornings on the other side of our double lot. This is completely removed from your space.

There are pets that live on the property. Sweet senior labs that you may hear upon arrival. They will always be separated from your space. We also have one cat. Kitty is our 4 year old cat. She is affectionate, but mostly keeps to herself.
We are a pet free cottage due to the other animals that live in close proximity to the cottage. I want to ensure a good fit and a wonderful vacation for all. * the fire pit is unavailable*

Perfect spot!
The single room was spacious and attractively appointed. Everything was sparkling clean, and there were even fresh flowers! Katie was a marvelous hostess, letting us borrow some additional kitchen items and directing us to medical care for others in our party not staying in her place. The location has everything a person could want in easy access. I highly recommend for 2 people.

Immaculate and Handy Location
Exactly as described on VRBO. Immaculate and handy location for two retired folks. Very, very quiet! Away from the crowds and beach which was fine for us. Close to some trails and birding. We appreciated the many extra things that Katie offered in this rental, including snacks, waters, tea, coffee and chocolate. The backyard had 3 bikes which we did not use as well as outside chairs and hammocks. Thanks to Katie for offering your pleasant rental. If we are back at the OBX, we would like to come back.

IF AVAILABLE, MUST BOOK!!!!! As the title suggests... Katie is the best! Katie when out of her way with exceptional hospitality. She was very responsive and helpful when we reached out with questions. She left plenty of snacks and drinks to avoid the grocery or an immediate meal. Even a personal note with candy! All information needed was provided in her page. The cottage is very chill and felt like our own little hideout with the backyard draped in foliage. We loved how it felt secluded from the main road. Conveniently located close to numerous beach access points. She also provides sufficient beach accessories to save from lugging ours along! Even while away, Katie was able to get us a bike pump in short notice! And let's not forget about your guidebook—it was beyond sufficient for the trip. Your recommendations were spot-on and helped us make the most of our time in KDH. Thanks again for the quaint stay. Can't wait to do it all over again!

Wonderful!
This was our first trip to Outer Banks. My two teenagers (13 and 14) and I. They did not want to leave. The cottage was stunning, the area quiet and still close to everything. Katie was an amazing host with great suggestions on where to visit!

This property was very secluded but close to all the great restaurants, beaches and activities which made my first Mother’s Day a great experience. The host was very attentive when I asked questions and the condo was very clean and modern. My family of 3 will definitely be coming back!

Adorable studio and wonderful host
This studio has everything you need in a great location. It is an adorable, clean and very well stocked studio. We really enjoyed how close it was to everything. Katie was a wonderful host. She was very accommodating and was always quick to respond to messages. We were celebrating our anniversary and she had cupcakes waiting for us when we arrived. Such a special touch. Also it was raining when we arrived so she had an umbrella waiting for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend her studio if you are visiting the obx. Thank you Katie.

Above and beyond!
This was a perfect place to stay! It was cute, clean, and comfy. There were all sorts of extras, like bikes, hammocks, beach supplies, snacks, etc. The kitchen is perfect for light meals but not well equipped for full meal prep, which is perfect for us (we pretty much go to the OBX just to eat seafood) but just something to be aware of if you’re planning to cook. The host was very helpful and responsive. This is an excellent place to stay!

Perfect spot on the Outerbanks! Easy to get up to Corolla to see the wild mustangs or easy to go down to Nags Head! Easy access to the beach and sound! Katie was awesome! This place has everything!
This cottage is perfect. It was so clean and beautifully decorated. It is right next door to the owners home, but she does everything possible to make sure there is privacy. There were snacks and drinks in the fridge which were welcomed after our long drive. The owner even brought over another beach chair when she noticed my daughter was with us. Highly recommend!

Great Getaway!
This cottage was PERFECT for us. We were greeted with a hand written note and chocolates and glow bands. The cottage has everything you need (linen, paper products, dishes, coffee pods for Kurig, and snacks!) the backyard had hammocks, bikes for us to ride, chairs, towels, sand toys and boards for the beach. You name it - the owner thought of it to make your stay at the beach enjoyable! Can't wait to come back!

This property is close to the beach and woods. You can have the best of both worlds. One day we hiked in the morning and went to the beach in the afternoon. Katie is very informative and is receptive when any questions are asked. She gave us a couple local secrets to make our stay that much better. Definitely recommend and hope to stay again.

Excellent Property and fantastic host
This cottage is adorable! It was stocked with snacks and Kcups, waters in the fridge and even popsicles in the freezer! A handwritten check-in note from the Katie…Nothing was missed! I would absolutely stay here every time I visit OBX. Location was great, walking and biking distance to shops, dining and public beach access. Bikes, body boards, and beach chairs available…even a beach bag to carry towels and snacks to the beach in! My teenage son rode a bike through the neighborhood nightly. Perfect place for the perfect getaway!!
