Opan Haus on 4 makuuhuoneen ja 2 kylpykotin koti. Kolmessa alakerran makuuhuoneessa on queen-vuode. Yläkerrassa on yksi iso makuuhuone, jossa 4 erillistä vuodetta. Joten talossa voi helposti nukkua 10 ihmistä. Talo rakennettiin alun perin vuonna 1860 saksalaisten maahanmuuttajien toimesta, jotka käyttivät Saksassa tuttuja fachwerk-rakenteita. Jotkut näistä alkuperäisistä seinistä on paljastunut osoittaen rakennepalkit, joita pidetään yhdessä käsin sekoitettujen tappien kanssa naulojen sijasta. Palkkien välissä voit nähdä myös käsintehtyjä tiiliä. Vaikka rakennettiin ennen kuin Abraham Lincoln oli presidentti, talossa on nyt kaikki modernit mukavuudet, kuten keskuslämmitys ja ilmastointi sekä keittiökoneet. Overall, it was a great stay in the country. Be ready for scorpions and other little critters. There is an additional charge per day after 2 guests that we didn't realize at booking. Fun, little place to stay with lots of history.

Quiet getaway close to fun
We enjoyed our stay at Opa’s house. I used to live in Kingsbury and I know there is a lot of bugs and wildlife but I was shocked by the number of scorpions in the house. There is not much that can be done about that but be on the look out. After the first night they started leaving us alone and really enjoyed the rest of our trip. The house is close to lots of fun activities but far enough out in the country to enjoy the quiet.

River Trip
Great little place out of the city. We came for the weekend to float the river. It was close to 3 different rivers with plenty of options near by to rent tubes. Qlso close enough to town to run and get food as needed.

Escape the hustle and bustle
This house is perfect for a large family. It is the perfect distance from town that you can get what you need when you need it, but have the privacy that you want. We were in town for a Texas State graduation ceremony which was only about a 20 minute drive. The house was built in the 1800’s, so it has a ton of character. It has been updated so it doesn’t feel like an old house. It is located on what appears to be a ranch. We absolutely loved it out here. We had the pleasure of having deer in the yard one morning which we all stood at the windows and watched them for a few minutes. Perfect location. Quiet and comfortable.

We came for big event but the highlight was truly the quiet peaceful abode that became our home for a week. Tastefully decorated and restored with a light hand comfortable beds and open fields off the patio to entertain the eye. Relaxing. New Braunfels is charming and it’s Saturday market a gem. Joy and Sherman are wonderful caretakers and hosts. Lovely people.

Amazing stay!!
This was the PERFECT stay with it being so close to the Geronimo Oaks Wedding Venue. Although the house is older- it was charming and spacious for our group of 8. The host was amazing and communicated well in advance of our stay and promptly responded to any messages I sent. Hands down one of the best stays we’ve ever experienced. Highly recommend! It was close to Seguin and New Braunfels- perfectly located for a country feel without being too far from necessities.

Great comfy house
We had plenty of room for our family. We felt like we were away from the hustle and bustle of the city but really close to be able to go and do all the things we wanted to do within a 20 min drive. The house has so much character and we just love that. It was nice having 3 bedrooms downstairs and hall access to both bathrooms (vs having to go into a master bedroom for access). The owners were very accommodating. It is so dry outside right now, but I bet when everything is green it is beautiful out there. Great house.

GREAT PLACE!
Family Reunion - From Texas Hill Country, Odessa, Tulsa, Edmond and beyond. The home we stayed in was originally built in the 1850s and move to this location in 2011 and restored. We all enjoyed our stay in "This Old House"! Updated to central air and modern appliances. If you are from, even a small town, come experience the rolling hills of Texas and this home.
