I recently stayed at The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur and came away with mixed feelings. While there were several highlights, there were also areas for improvement. Check-In Experience The check-in process was not as smooth as I expected. Despite arriving at 4:20 PM, my Junior Suite was not ready. While I don’t hold the reception staff accountable, the recovery could have been handled better. On the upside, I requested complimentary breakfast for the inconvenience, which they kindly granted. I appreciated that gesture. Location The hotel’s location is a drawback. There’s nothing within walking distance, so you’ll need a vehicle to get anywhere. No malls, restaurants, or attractions are nearby, which might not suit travelers who prefer more accessible surroundings. Service The service, however, was excellent. The staff were incredibly attentive and responsive. They use WhatsApp for communication, which made it convenient to request assistance. For instance, when my Wi-Fi connection slowed down, a butler brought a portable Wi-Fi unit within 5 minutes—a level of efficiency that exceeded expectations. Overall While no hotel can deliver perfect service, I am grateful for the attentive staff and their quick response to my needs. The challenges with check-in and the less-than-ideal location were offset by the exceptional service. If convenience and immediate access to amenities aren’t priorities, The Majestic could still offer a memorable experience.

Nice hotel just not for business travel
I’ll caveat that this was for a business trip. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff are great. However, I would not recommend this hotel for business travel. The WiFi is terrible, making basic work functions difficult. The noise from traffic went all night and was so loud that even with earplugs I did not sleep much. And checking in took nearly 1 hour due to a change in my schedule and the need to add an extra night.

Upkeep needed for fitments and looking tired.
Still grand and beautiful, but the fittings in the rooms shows signs of aging, the shower floor is ponding and leaks out to the main toilet area, the bathtub was not secured down, the bed was creaking with tired mattress and the sofa was stained and beaten up. My room 1202 is facing the highway and train tracks, thus was noisy every other minute with a combination of road and train noises. Do avoid this room unless double glazed window panes are fitted. The breakfast was bad, food overcooked (read "hard"), coffee dispensers still a bottleneck, range of food is uninspiring for this establishment.

The service is a little rubbish, had to constantly ring for things like bath towel replacements, or re fill the bar fridge and they would forget and have to call again. While many speak english many times we was a difficult exchange because they were difficult to understand. However the venue is nice, but they do need to improve the internet speed as it was very average and sometimes barely worked at all. Rooms need a refurb, many are showing signs of wear and tear.
